Hi guys
Im with BT and moving home soon, they are going to send me a " welcome pack " which could come with a router, shall i use my existing Homehub6 or do i have to use the new one ?
I also got an email saying an " appointment " had been booked between 8am and 1pm on the day my broadband transfers over, the guy at BT said its just the engineer visiting the green box, is this true ?

Carry on using your old one. If you're already in contract, unlikely you'll get a new router, but bonus if you do. I always have a spare handy in case of failures. As long a you have a bt socket in the new house, they shouldn't need to visit your home, just switch you on at the cabinet0

You need to find out if there is a phone line terminated at a BT master socket in the property you are moving to, the engineer may well upgrade the socket to the latest version.
If it's not a new build home, finding out what the current occupiers are doing regarding their service would be useful too.0 -
Yes there is a master socket . It’s a fairly new property no older than 8 years0

Plug the old one in , on the day of the switch it should just change from orange to blue when the openreach engineer has done their bitEx forum ambassador

Thanks guys. I'm in an currently have the previous tenants line until later this month at which point i will be switched to Fibre 2.
According to BT, i should be in for the appointment because the engineer may need to also " check the socket "0
