Moving to London - renting advice

I live in Stratford, and would really recommend it. I live in the rougher part, so it's a bit cheaper, but still actually fine. The olympic park area is lovely though. Theres loads to do - loads of parks, shops etc and so close to the city. I cycle to my job in Kings cross, and it's a lovely ride through three parks. it's also changing a lot at the moment and getting much nicer. I wouldn't rule it out0

OP has a new job in Canary Wharf, travel times to Victoria are a bit irrelevant, since there is no direct links between them. Also consider parts if Surrey, pleasant and relatively cheap. 35+ mins to Victoria, depending on location.
If you are going to suggest further south, parts of Kent like Beckenham/Bromley with 20ish min trains to London bridge + 10-15min via Jubilee line to CW are much more relevant. But as someone else has already mentioned the cost of transport might outweigh the lower cost of living in cheaper area.0 -

You can change tubes at Westminster onto the jubilee line, but I agree that most people would look at a terminal station on the correct side of town for their job so that the central slow bit is minimised.0
