I didn't want to do this one either. Surely in order for the charity to still benefit we would have to donate at least as much as we would gain in fact probably much more when administration costs are taken into account. Personally I would only have done it if I was going to let the DD run for at least several months. Didn't see the point as it isn't my first choice charity anyway. If it was NSPCC I would do it as keep meaning to sign up.
Am I wrong here though? Would the money that we get in Piggy points not have come from the charity, or does it come from somewhere else?

Not 100% sure on this but nowadays most of the major charities vary rarely do any of their own fund raising its now done by a group of about 4 national companies who get a %age of what they raise which increases the more they raise.
Suspect that this is a attempted marketing ply the maths of which is covered in the post by
oasisfeverish This is why i now only support local charities where i know all monies raised go to help the organisation/people within them.
this would probably mean that the 700pp would be paid by the fund raising company involved and therefor come from their profits not from the charity themselves

    please
weller711 dont feel too bad about this if they did not anticipate that they were going to get more overall doing this offer than paid out then i am sure they would not have concidered it in the first place.

I can speak as a regular reader and occasional poster to this board that most on here are friendly people who put down their own feelings on things to help others and their comments are not meant in any way to upset.

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you that contribute to this thread with answers and tips on CTs. I've been a member with PB for about 6 months but didn't stumble across this thread until 6 weeks ago and so was only doing the 5 or so CTs every week. Since I've found all your tips I've now got £11.35's worth of points, this might not be much to most of you but I thought it'd take me a year to get my first voucher before I found this board :D

    So thanks very much :)

Just hoping I'll win a daily quiz soon now :D

  • My mum has won a quiz today (lucky thing!) but although the 2000 points are showing in her piggybank they are not showing in her points total....

Has anyone else had this problem and how did it get resolved?

    Thank you.

On a brighter note, my 700 Dogs Trust Points were added last night but the direct debit has not been taken yet, so what do I do, allow the direct debit to take £4.34 and be approx 300 Piggypoints Up - ot cancel the DD and be 700 Piggypoints up  I really dont know what to do

I purposelly didn't join this one as i can't afford to help right now and would have been in a moral dilemma like you.

I say think of the doggies, maybe just give ya first month? I don't mind scamming businesses, animals/charity is different.

    Piggies we have a crisis!

Yesterday Weller711 posted her situation about the points from dogs trust and some of us replied (including me) advising what we would do.

I don't think any of us meant to offend her but she has posted on DFW (found this on my daily travels) that she is now leaving MSE due to our replies (although not mentioned us directly).

I feel extremely bad she feels she has to do this and have apologised on that thread and sent her a PM too.

Just wondered if anyone else who commented could do the same and try and stop her leaving?
