Declaring expired points to insurance company.

We had a very unlucky year in 2014, claiming off the insurance for an accident and getting two sets of three points (now expired).
The accident was in June 2014, and the points in August and December 2014.
The insurance is due in May 2019. Do we still need to declare them on the insurance for 2019? Does the five years count from the year or the exact date?
Thanks in anticipation.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

You answer what they ask, we don't know what they may ask in May 2019.0

They have always asked if you have any claims or convictions 'within the last five years'. If I am asked this again, do I go by the exact date or just by the year?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

The date of fixed penalties on your licence is the date of the offence.
As ever, the rule of thumb is very simple.
If you tell them, and they didn't need to know, your quote will be unaffected.
If you don't tell them, and they did need to know, all hell will descend if and when they discover the truth.
So, really, what's the benefit in trying to play games with them?0 -

I am not trying to play games. If I were, I would not have asked for advice on how to answer the question accurately.
Sorry I asked, thanks for the replies.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

It's a valid question, IIRC it's the dates of the conviction on the licence not the date of the offence.0 -
Whichever way you look at it June 2014 is within 5 years of May 20190

But it's OK, because saying "Well, 2014 vs 2019... Surely they aren't worried about the fine detail of seven months?" isn't "playing games"...0 -
I honestly did not know whether they took the exact date or just the year which is why I asked the question, if I had have intended to defraud I would not have asked the question would I?
I may be naive but I am not dishonest.
Thank you to DUTR who has answered my question without casting aspersions upon my character.
I shall declare the exact date when asked.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
