Afternoon all.
I've just sat down...busy old time at DM's. My first and second tasks were to take the rubbish and recycling to the tip and then go shopping. My own rubbish was already in the car. The tip was busy and the SM fairly quiet. It's open on New Years Day so no mad rush for anyone.
Then I fitted the new black ink cartridge into DM's printer, it's a job I don't like doing even though I'm getting used to it. I photocopied the POA twice, stamped each page and the DM signed and dated it - 20 times! I'll post them out after the holiday to NS&I and BT to sort them out.
The bag of venison cubes is now in the oven, slowly becoming a casserole. We normally have venison at Christmas but it didn't happen this year.
DM has been in bed all day. The doc wanted to admit her on Friday but DM refused, I can see why. When I'm here she gets waited on and so can recover some strength. The nurse is coming out tomorrow to take more bloods.
So, all's sort of well here. I've got a new Ann Cleeves to read, I bought it second hand and it's dated 2003. It's not set in Shetland but the north east which I know well. I'll settle down to read whilst the casserole bubbles.
Hugs to those whose arms are open, wounds are healing or spirits are screeching.0 -
Good afternoon all. hope everyone is ok.
We've had a good couple of days in York with Australian friends, they have moved on to the lake District today, they're on their way to Scotland for a family wedding.
Not much to report really, just logged in to say hello!!
See you tomorrow anyway,

Had a good OS type day just me and OH.
Wrote a couple of letters this morning, done some knitting, finishing off some tiny winter woolies for a baby expected any day now.
And wrapped some Christmas presents!!! for a friend that I’m seeing at the week end, no, I didn’t buy them in the sales, just got behind with jobs on the run up to the big day.
Dinner was very simple, fish portions out of the freezer with some tiny new potatoes and a tin of mushy peas, soon sorted, left over mince pies and cream for pud. Tired of gammon and last of a very large pork pie that OH bought so have put them in the freezer, needed a change.
Some good things on telly later, animal programmes.0
