Living in Nantwich

Just to add, Nantwich rail station IS within walking distance of the town centre. Very much so ☺️🚂.
Yes there is a bail hostel in Sandbach, as there are in many areas these days. However, Sandbach is surprisingly big when you look at all residential areas. Not all are going to be located by this hostel which is on the outskirts of the town. It certainly hasn’t impacted on my views of Sandbach. 👍🏼0 -

Is the Chester area too expensive, because it seems a fair bit nearer to Runcorn.
No it's Whitchurch. Chester centre also tends to be very expensive, though there are cheaper areas like Blacon on the outskirts, which are cheap for a reason.0 -

Apologies I meant the station at Crewe can be a bit far to walk to the town, eg Asda etc- around 25 mins. I've done it, it's fine but if you have bags of shopping it can be a bit far but great public transport. Nantwich is 10 mins tops.
The hostel wouldn't be an issue for me, I know it well and it's well run and managed. It's closer to Elworth end and I do like Sandbach, though I'm glad I don't live there as I'd be living in the amazing sweet shop Choc-a-doodle-Doo!0 -

Upton, near the zoo, is not a bad area. Also easy access to the M53 for getting to Runcorn.0 -

Agree, Upton is quite nice, there was quite a few newish houses being built last time I passed there too, but it was a while ago. Good transport links from Chester station too.0
