Best sim-only with tethering for me?

Situation is:
  • Have ceased my landline/broadband as I am moving
  • Don't want to tie myself into a new landline/broadband contract
  • Decided that the best option is to have mobile broadband
  • Sim only deals with tethering seem to be better value than actual data only Sims
  • One location that I will need to use my phone only works well with EE so want to use an EE based network
  • Happy to pay say £25/month
I have seen the following deals:
All 12 month contracts
Virgin
Option 1
Data 30gb
2500 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Monthly cost £16
Option 2
Data 40gb
Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Monthly cost £23
Pros - decent price/data rollover for one month/allows tethering

EE
Option 3
60GB data
£30 a month
Unlimited texts
Unlimited minutes
CLAIM £100 GIFT CARD* so effective cost is £21.67/month [any issues claiming this?]
Or 40GB for £25/month
Pros - decent price/allows tethering/more data than others
Cons - no data rollover

BT Mobile Option 4
40GB Data
Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
Free access to over 5 million UK wi-fi hotspots
Free Extra Speed 4G for data speeds up to twice as fast as standard 4G
Get free BT Sport on your mobile
Now £30.00 a month
£90 BT Reward Card
Effectively £22.50/month

Pros - decent price/allows tethering/faster speeds?/BT Sport (but don't really need this)/Free wi-fi
Cons - no data rollover

It seems like the EE 60GB offer is a no-brainer or am I missing something? Any other suggestions?

I didn’t think Virgin included tethering. Check and double check the small print.

I am no longer using a landline and use my phone as a broadband replacement. For a price comparison I am with Three on unlimited 4G data, unlimited tethering, unlimited minutes. They had an offer just before Christmas (sadly now over) that gave all this for £20/month on a 12 month contract. The £20/month for “everything” gives a good indication of the rip off elsewhere, especially landline/broadband/mobile packaged bundles!

I’ve just checked and Three currently offer 100GB (inc tethering), unlimited mins, for £20/month.

    It seems it is now:

Yes - as of April 2018, Virgin Mobile has removed previous restrictions on mobile tethering
Yes, the Three offer looks good unfortunately in one location where I will need my phone the three reception is non-existant indoors.
