  • Well done Lynnee, what is your 1% amount again? I find the extra money dries up in Dec. I sold two things on ebay over the weekend which put £13 in my paypal. It cost £6 to post them both... plus ebay fees. But they were big, I wasn't using them and I am happy they have gone to a new home. A couple of pounds towards my 1%! Also I've been meaning to list them since July....

My 1% is £41.94. So paid £210 which I saved throughout last month! Well done on your ebay sales, it all adds up!

  • Sorry I haven't checked in for months! I have been tracking and keeping up with my repayments and as of the end of December I'll have paid off £3832.30 of my £4000 target! That's 95.8%

Unfortunately I'm going to be very unlikely to be able to make up that last little bit. I've got too much to pay out for before the 31st but I am so happy with my progress. I'm hoping to be debt free by the end of 2020. I'm going to push myself and try and pay off all my debt before my 40th birthday at the end of August. This is the first time in years that I have had less than £10k debt.
  • #17 thought i should check in as its nearly year end. Things went a bit squiffy over the last couple of months and the debt increased. Ive worked it out and im still at the 35% that i declared on my last post a few months ago..ooops.
Ive gone over to next years thread.
    Well done everyone.x

Hi, is there a new thread for this for next year? I would love to keep going. It makes it so much easier! If one hasn't been started I'm happy to start one, but I don't want to pinch anyone else's thread!

  • Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.

The 2020 1% challenge is now open. Would be lovely to see you over on the new thread for a new year of debt busting. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6082083

I'm ending the year at 100% of my target :). Feel really pleased about it, but still have a long way to go on the debt free journey.

  • Hey everyone,

It’s been a long time since I ve been on these forums, and my eye has been off the ball. But I am ready to take back control in my life and so I would also like to join in if I may. I need to figure out exactly what I owe on my cards... I have five cards with roughly £17k on them. The last two comments have assured me that this challenge can still be for me also. All of the debt is on 0% interest. I have a goal of being completely debt free by the end of July 2020. I don’t know how, but I trust that I don’t need to know how right now I just need to get started and stop procrastinating because I feel overwhelmed. The path will become clear of that I am sure.

So for now I am putting my 1% down as £170. That already feels so much better. Thank you

    Hi Lookingtothefuture,
Welcome to the 2019 1% challenge. I've assigned you number 64. If you could mention your number when checking in that'd be great. Good luck with your 1%s.
