Undelivered Christmas presents

I ordered 6 items from Millets on 17/12/18. They were all Christmas presents and I had a foolish belief that there was plenty of time to get the items before Christmas. On 22nd December I phoned them and was advised that nothing had been sent out ,one item was not available and I would be refunded for it. I receive an email saying the items have been despatched. The dpd link tells me that they've not received the parcel. Millets now tell me the parcel should be sent on 28/12/18 and have offered me a 10pds voucher. I was missing 6 family presents at Christmas and I'm pretty appalled at their customer service but there seems to be little I can do.

  • What do you want to happen to resolve it? Did you check that Millets guaranteed delivery by Christmas if it was that important to you?

You could cancel the whole order and get your money back.
  • They guaranteed delivery by Christmas right up until 21/12/18. To be honest I'm disappointed that their customer service was so poor and that even when I made an intervention they couldn't sort out the situation. When you're missing 6 presents on Christmas day it is very disappointing.
  • You are entitled to cancel the whole order if you wish. You could probably re-purchase the items saving a lot more than the £10 gesture they offered, too.

Cancel the order and look for bargains, or the 10 quid offer is a good offer as some offer nothing

  • Let's be honest. What you really want is more cash, isn't it. How much are you after?

As you ordered from Millets, I presume the presents are for adults, who will understand these things happen?

    Never mind!
  • A heads up, Christmas next year is 25 December. Order well in time and not on the latest delivery dates, just in case.

But how else are people meant to get some compo if they order in plenty of time for Christmas???
  • No, that's not what I'm after and their performance is so atrocious that I doubt if any voucher would ever find it's way to me anyway. Today I contacted them again and 3 emails later they tell me that 2 items are unavailable now. They don't tell me which items are unavailable and I have to email them and ask which items. Still no items dispatched.
