Welfare at Work

OP - I sympathise with you.
Given the times that we live in, I think it is reasonable to expect a more convenient WC setup than you currently have.
I am a millennial though have seen/lived in similar conditions described by some posters (being from a developing country). Just because I have used an old fashioned latrine doesn't mean I would happily embrace the idea at work. Maybe if it were temporary/only solution.
Good on you for raising the concern at work.
Typically things change because somebody said something and the absence of a supporting law should not prevent you making a good case for change.
The life I lead now is only possible because of people that fought for change. I'm not suggesting you exhaust your energy pursing this (I believe in picking battles carefully) but kudos for raising it anyway.
I wish you luck in your endeavours pursuing this. If there are no laws to support your case, I'd suggest you try coming up a practical and cost effective solution , see if you can get your colleagues onboard with the idea and then sell (dont request /demand) the idea to your manager. If there is someone better placed to have this conversation with your boss , use them.
You will need to to get on board with conversations like....
"we all really enjoy working here... see our futures here ....bla bla and the one thing that would really help improve our working conditions is.. 'Insert idea here'. Also means less times at toilet breaks.
I appreciate it is a big ask... but if there is anything you can do to support us on this... It would go a long way with keeping up morals, hygiene standards, we'd love you for ever etc etc."
Might not work...might... you never know.
We have the solution being delivered tomorrow by a co worker...my mother in law has gifted us (well me but all can use it) a really rather nice caravan as they no longer use it as far to big for them at the age they are,so that will be our recreation area for food and breaks and has a built in toilet with some sort of cassette (need to look into that) in the bathroom which has hot and cold water.
Bonus is has a full size cooker so can even make hot food now...the difference in hygiene will be wonderful.0 -
See if you can get the employer to pay for the chemicals and the cooking gas.0

Your still going to have to run a pipe to the caravan to get cold water so I don't understand why you couldn't have done this to use the sink in the existing toilet?
Also if your going to be sharing a caravan toilet with colleagues I don't think there will be an improvement with hygiene like your expecting. You or someone else will have to regularly empty a cassette full of yours and other people's waste; Which will involve pouring it out somewhere and washing it out (from what you have said I don't know where you would do this?). You then also have the issue that number 2's can be messy due to the flap system in the toilet and that's why such a thing as "happy bowls" exist.
A lot of caravanners only use the toilet for number 1's and notable number choose to not use them at all.
Yes you may now be able to wash your hands but I certainly wouldn't describe caravan cassette toilet shared with work colleagues as "hygienic" unless you have to empty the current toilet some way already.0 -
Seen that you are sorted, but I had already copied a link to a travel plug you could have used whilst bringing in hot/cold water before you start.

Trust me its better than what we had...hot and cold water will come from x 2 water butts caravan people use.
We have a toilet sink for hand washing after toilet and a sink in kitchen area for food and plate washing, makes a big difference.
Empty a cassette will be easy compared to what we have now.0 -
If you park it near the existing facility you may be able to optimize No.1 and No.2 options so you don't stink out the caravan.0
