Hello everyone!
Not been much of a day for decluttering today spent the day with my mum and son. But went to SW tonight and decluttered 5.5lb!
Did throw out some socks that didn't have a pair though was fed up with seeing them every time I put the washing away.

Today has been a success from the exercise POV - 10,000+ steps but not really from the decluttering POV. I washed the duvet cover, which was dried in td & replaced on bed. I have also started making a soup from lo vegetables, did a sm trip & made dinner in about 35 minutes (as DSis peeled the spuds whilst I was at the sm :T)
87 - 90 Cork, ancient pair of my socks, 2 takeaway boxes with lids - Binned
91 - 92 Empty Wine bottle & empty spice jar - rinsed & recycled
Cheerleading resumed:
Onebrokelady, I once had a couple of empty shelves in my kitchen & every time I went in I opened them - I even made special trips into the kitchen just so I could open the cupboard :rotfl: It didn’t last long - my DSis moved in & wanted some of her own crockery etc - no more empty shelves
abbe89, I don’t do car boots but maybe pricing everything ready for the car boot season & sorting into boxes will help you feel like you are decluttering- apologies if you have already done this
Molillie,no ‘slough of despond’
You are still getting rid of one item a day & probably more on some days
& if you are not bringing anything new in then you are winning :T Sometimes, I wish the ‘Decluttering Fairy’ would come in & work her magic (no way would it be a male :rotfl:) but then where would be the warm glow of pride at a job well done :rotfl: plus she would probably get rid of the stuff I am procrastinating about :rotfl:
bit by bit, :T well done on sourcing a cs to take text books :T Also big:D:D re moving out unloved items & using loved furniture   :T DVDs as well :T You really have caught the ‘Decluttering Bug’ :rotfl:
White-musk, so true :T
nannywindows, unfortunately I can’t declutter to the shed as it is MY shed :rotfl: but I do like your thinking & actions :rotfl: Good luck with the craft stuff- I am dreading sorting my craft stash - although it is mostly wool. There is also an unfinished jumper that I started knitting for my DH over 25 years ago :eek::eek: There was only half a sleeve & the neck to knit but I was using a Fair Isle pattern with 7 colours  & got bored :rotfl:
What I want to know is ‘when is the ‘house warming’ party :rotfl::D:rotfl::beer:
Gem-gem, glad you are recovering & keeping up with the decluttering:T
:T somerandom, on both the decluttering & the resisting temptation fronts :T:T:T
choille, last year my living room windowsill was like your bedroom windowsill  now it has a beautiful statuette & a vase of flowers. It is a joy to behold, as I imagine yours is as well :T You have made a great start. Now you know the wonderful feeling of decluttering an area, I think you will crave more :T:D. So very well done :T & keep up the good work
chocolatelover93, :T:T:T now that is a seriously good declutter :T:T:T:T

aspirational items are some of the most difficult items to declutter - so go easy on yourselfNothing good cones from having too much sense. I decluttered mine long ago. :rotfl:
10 items gone today, including the broken lollipop moulds. They were evidently not that important to me: I only just noticed two are the same!
I'll be away for a few days - my sister and I inherited our parents' home a couple of years ago and I go over every few weeks to sort through more of it. It's honestly a huge project but it needs to go on the market later this year so I need to spend time there. We have found some of the things that mattered to us but not all of them, so I push on with it! Will bring you back a total, hopefully a fat one!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Have sold a few items on FB that I am delivering to someone today so that will be another 2 things gone
Have got to empty all the bins and have a huge box of recycling to go out later so that will be some more things as well
My aim for this week is to make sure the kitchen table stays tidy and isn't a dumping ground for everything and me and DS can start eating our meals up the table again!

This site is really moving me on, even if just one a day I feel better when I have told you all. Large microwave box broken down and in recycling bin this morning, dress listed on Gumtree, found extention lead out to take to guest room, tried to plug radio/cd/cassette player in for guest and it would not go in spare socket, found it was just 2 prong holes so using extn lead to plug light radio in, old light had 2 prongs (Ikea) and has been binned. Spiralizer collected and friend made, woollens and shoes collected, added 2 old cardis. Now have an M & S voucher from Xmas and as the local one may be on close list had better use it - not an M & S person so maybe a handbag. Stripping 2nd guest room bed, been made up for about 6 yrs not used, to wash and found out fresh bed linen and 2 bath towels for guests, Busy busy.0

*35-45 itemsx10 taken to the charity shop. A mixture of DDs things and my things. I was determined that 10 items were going to be leaving the house.
Next thing is now I have finally got my boot freed up is to do a tip run. Have a pile of items in the living room ready fo go. Going to have a wander round the house today to have a look for any more items that need to go and hopefully do the tip run tomorrowDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Twiddling my thumbs as there is little I can do at the moment. House still looks like the removal men have just left. It will be fine in less than two weeks now, then I will be living like normal people and not in a building site.
Well done to all who are continuing to reclaim their homes. It's so invigorating to see space appear and cleaning easier.
Keep going, we'll all get there.Feb 2019 GC £151.53/£300God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, wisdom to know the difference.0 -
2 more bags of clothes and toys went to the charity shop today. One of the local shops had a sign up saying they couldn't take any more toys or books so it must be decluttering season!
I've sorted about 6 bags of kids clothes for my neighbour now. I just need to catch her to hand them over.
I've been sorting through the dining room which is stuffed full of overflowing book shelves, craft stuff, games and jigsaws. It's hard going but I'm seeing progress. I've dug out a small craft kit to make pompom cats out of carrier bags so I'm getting that ready now for an after school activity with the 6 year old. It'll clear the craft kit and some plastic bags. Win!0
