A second CC for current Barclaycard customers

Barclaycard' lending policy has changed in Nov this year and now existing customers can apply for a second card again. It's been confirmed by phone that bank would be more than happy to give me a second card, if I wish. I applied and Platinum cashback card is on its way.
Has anyone had similar experience with Barclaycard recently?

Not recently, but I got my second BarclayCard before the last cut-off (Platinum Travel Card) - already owned the original 0.5% cashback card.

I was waiting for them to allow 2 cards again so I could get their low APR card, but its now gone. . Will try for the Amex low APR one in a few months instead I think .

If it’s a policy then it will apply to all customers and will depend on individual circumstances if they allow them to have a second card

Hmmm I just tried using the eligibility checker on the barclaycard website, and when I clicked to say that I already had a Barclaycard, it popped up with a message saying because I already had one I wasn't eligible for another one...

I've had two Barclaycards for decades and never knew there was a single-card-policy in place. One was Visa and one MasterCard. Barclaycard seemed to drop MasterCard a year or so ago and they converted mine into another Visa card.

I’ve actually got three, I suspect others might have too.

1) A white platinum visa that allows 2% Cashback at supermarkets and petrol stations. 0.5% everywhere else. Opened on 2008.

2) A black Cashback visa that allows 0.5% Cashback in all shops. This was originally an EGG money card way back in the day. Then Barclaycard bought them out and it became a world MasterCard, then a Visa/Amex due, and then its current form

3) A Hilton Honors card

It’s possible to have more than one but obviously times and circumstances dictate how this can be achieved.

I never knew that Barclays did a cash back card.

My OH, he has a premier card and then in mid 2018 we decided to have our current accounts merged so we both have the prem card. He said you get nothing back, ie cash/etc. So where is the cash back card, please?

Hi,

It’s on their main website although it is now vastly reduced 0.25% Cashback now for new applicants. Although that is still better than nothing.

Barclaycard' online eligibility checker is not updated and I got the same response that I was not eligible for a second card. :rotfl:
