Wills and grants

My grandma recently passed away, she inherited my grandads estate when he passed away 3 years ago, my grandma doesn’t have a will. They had two children, my mum and uncle, my mum was married to my stepfather at the time she passed away in 2004, so that just leaves my uncle and 3 grandchildren ie me,my sister and brother. My uncle was made an Admin for my grandma after my grandfather passed away and the Estate left was to benefit my grandma , but she has passed away leaving no Will that can be found on the legal register. My uncle claims he is the only beneficiary is this true?

Sorry for your loss.
In which country did your grandmother live ?
What did your grandfathers will say - was everything left to your grandmother absolutely, or was she perhaps given a lifetime interest in the estate after which it was to pass to your uncle ?0 -
United Kingdom
It says on my granddads will that she was the beneficiary of his estate but if she proceeded him or took it to probate once he had passed then it gets passed onto his children as trustees to a trust fund. However, they did take it to probate once he passed and my uncle became and admin for the estate to benefit my grandmother, my mother was not included in this due to her passing away before they did. I have a copy of the will and the grant I’m not sure if it would be right to post them on this online forum?0

No.
The rules of intestacy apply. In E&W this means that her estate passes to her children; your mum and uncle. Given that your mum predeceased you grandmother, her share now goes to her children; you, your sister, and brother.I have a copy of the will and the grant I’m not sure if it would be right to post them on this online forum?
Take them to a solicitor. Get confirmation of the legal position.
Get them to write to your uncle if necessary.0 -
Ok thank you very much for your response and for your help this has been very confusing. We will be going to a solicitor as I’m not sure what happens next.0

I have spoken with my Uncle who claims my grandma did have a Will but I am unable to locate this through the government website, do they have to be registered to be legal?
We are in England, thank you.0 -
You can get a copy of the will if it goes through probate but there's no obligation to let you see it beforehand.
Is your uncle willing to show you the will do you think? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
My grandma had no assets etc until my grandad passed away. My uncle was made Admin of the estate to benefit my grandma in 2015 when it went through probate.0
