Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its a dreich morning here very grey and dark, lights on.
TA well done for getting through Christmas, difficult I know but you did it!! Good that you had support from extended family. remembering past times often bring tears, they are healing tears.
Well we seem to be having a cup of tea about 1am every night. I settled down OH was still reading about 11pm. I woke and was aware that there was wriggling and sniiffing going on, so ended up making tea, its getting to be a habit. He is still alseep. I decided to get up and have breakfast, will go through and wake him shortly. They are coming this morning to collect the equipment he does not require.
My left wrist is protesting, I have not been wearing the support as I should, so today its a concerted effort to put it back on when I have completed a job. Not that I am going to do much!!
WE had left over turkey and ham last night with Jacket spuds, I put enough sliced turkey in the freezer to do a roast dinner on Sunday, that will use it up. I am going to use up the ham in a frittata tonight. We also finished the very sticky Christmas pudding, another thing out the fridge. Tonight it will be creme brulee for dessert.
WE did nip to DD2's yesterday afternoon, the town was very quiet, although quite a few shops were open. Just Argos busy. Aldi and Lidl were both closed, open today, not that I need to go, I have enough to keep us going till next thursday.
So quiet day today, may be a bit of reading and a bit of TV, I need to nip over to see our neighbour, her son and DIL brought Christmas dinner to her this year. They live in a house and she cannot manage the stairs any more, so they prepped everything at home and brought it with them.`0 -
Morning All
We had a lovely relaxed day yesterday, a walk to the bottle bank with DS1 got rid of the glass. The two DSs had invited a friend for lunch so it was good to catch up with them. They went for a walk, DD and I sorted dinner which was veggie curry with all the leftover veg from Tuesday, very tasty and enough for today too, friends joined us for dinner.
Today DS1 is going to collect the DGC and bring them here for a few days (can't really pin him down as to how long they're staying!) and DS2 and GF are going up north to stay with friends at a rented house for a couple of nights. I have to say I will be looking forward to a few hours of peace and quiet!
Nothing really to do today but I did get a new sewing book so may have a look at that. If the weather stays OK I'll go for a walk later.
Pleased to hear you've all survived! Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Seems a lot colder here this morning I dashed outside before 8 to put the bin out and I think there is a frost on the cars.
Today I am doing nothing and going nowherethe only person allowed in will be my dd, I love Christmas and all the associated fuss but I am always glad once its over and life gets back to more normal. So I will have a quick tidy through this morning unload the dw etc and then from about lunch time I intend to be on the sofa with a blanket and a film or two.
Yesterday we went round to dd's for the afternoon / evening it was a really lovely day with picky bits and buffet food my sausage rolls were very popular.
I really fancy a jacket spud and a big salad for dinner so will send OH up to the shop for some salad leaves the rest I have already got we also need a loaf.
OK need to get busy relaxing !! have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread BTDT, and hugs to all those in need.
Today is leftover soup day, everything that hasn't been eaten or packed away will be made into a pot of soup, minus the last two mince pies, I don't think they'd add to the flavour.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. up stupid early given the time I went to bed. I was thinking about things and getting very angry so I got up about half two and had a cup of something then went back to bed and fell asleep about half three.
The beef sliced well, so did the pork so they're ready for sandwiches after when sister and father turn up. Little prince is in, siting on the windowsil watching outside world.
Have one present to wrap and three cards to write before they turn up and a spot of tidying, the woodburner door to clean and the shower to gird my loins for.
Hope everyone is bearing up, hope everyone has had a medium to very good timeNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Hope you who are off work manage a relaxing day my eldest DD has returned to work ,even though she's really not well with a continuing chest infection that she's had for almost a fortnight

Back again to report I have been a busy bee! I tackled the fridge first as planned. Gammon sliced and wrapped. Bit of turkey gone in the freezer. What hasn't been eaten by the w/e will go in the freezer as well. Salad drawer checked out and cleaned. Just some soggy cucumber and wilty lettuce to chuck. Two big red peppers, some celery and carrot simmering in a pan as the base for my fave red pepper and cream cheese soup before they start wilting too. Hope I can find room in the freezer for some pots of it. Some bacon gone in the freezer before that goes off. Need to keep an eye on the cheese still in there. The l/o cream is being added to my coffees and the remaining tuna pate is earmarked for my lunch!
But oh dear why did I buy so much sweet stuff when there is only me here to eat it! Still lots calling me from the cupboard. May freeze some of the offending items before more harm is done!
Might have to flick the duster round next job as there are signs that the sun is putting his hat on and it shows up every speck of dust when it's low in the sky!
Coffee break over, bye again lovely people. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all, I've been washing the kitchen and bathroom floors but it is very dull and damp here so they really are taking an age to dry.
I got spoilt yesterday, I went up for a nap and while I slept, OH made me some lovely fishcakes for dinner as they were having belly pork and he knows I'm not keen on that.
Today I need to do a bit more tidying and hoovering but I'm not doing hoovering until I know DS is awake as he gets cross and then I get cross back, really not worth it.
No idea what we'll do about today's evening meal, leaving that up to OH.
Well done BTDT and thank you for the thread.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Been to Oban and back - cheques deposited and a couple of things bought. I allowed myself a festive treat of cheesy footballs. :rotfl: I know, disgusting but I do love them once a year.
It's so mild here that the llamas were out in their field, very unusual for this time of year. Seems that the drizzle doesn't affect them, lovely to see them.
I also bought myself a new book  which I'm about to start. There's plenty of wood in the big bucket though I haven't lit the woodburner yet.
On the way to Oban (well, in the opposite direction really) I picked up the replacement bauble which was waiting for me in the delivery office. I've not hung it up, it'll keep for next year. It came in a huge box which was stuffed with bubble wrap and hardly weighed anything at all. Still, great customer service.
Not inclined to do any marking...best laid plans and all that. It'll keep until tomorrow. :rotfl:
The big bag of peas from the outside freezer is being turned into soup as I can use up the wee roast from Christmas Day in it. Pea soup is my favourite and I've got some sour cream to use up too, they go so well together.0
