Financial Reports for Half Year ending 30 June

Start of year - Main CC £8351: Now £6853 with £3500 in regular savers Target 31/12/2019 = £0 - still on target

Start of year - CC #2 £0 : Now £9800 - this was to house DD1 car finance and DS1 van repair. DD1 is repaying regularly and will have paid her share by 0% deadline. DS1 has settled into much more regular work and has started talking about paying his bit back which is positive

Start of year Car Loan - 2.8% - £12K: Now estimated £9K - Target 31/12/2019 = £6K - still on target - Having thoughts about using the regular savers to make a huge dent in the loan as that may save me a £200 interest. But I really want to kill the card but pride is so expensive.

Start of year : Overdraft £0K - End of June £1.4K - I use my overdraft as a shock absorber - it and I are old friends so I don't care quite as much as I should. But I will be moving providers soon so I may look to have dealt with it but trying to clear it organically (ie bit by bit) is up and down. If I diverted my regular savings to it, it would be cleared in a couple of months,

Start of year: Mortgage £132K: estimate Now £125K Target 31/12/2019 = £118K - still on target 7.5 years to go on current progress. But will look at accelerating as its too long!

Emergency Fund: Start of year £0 - Now £1200. This is more a matter of relabelling than saving. I am lucky to work for a larger company so there is a share scheme. This one allows buying and selling with no notice, and I have managed to avoid selling any for a while so it is building up nicely for a change, although DD2 moving house may be expensive if landlord plays silly bu**ers

NSD's - pretty poor really - genuinely hardly a day goes by without some small spend or some automated transaction goes out. My NSD's are rare as rocking horse poo - and just as hard to come by

Extra Income - doing OK - main success is doing a few extra things at work which come with small payments or allowances, then really focusing on driving 5-10% below the speed limit which is really improving fuel efficiency by about 10% - as I spend £300 on petrol a month thats about £30 extra

    Non Financial Half Yearly Report

Steps - Yawn - poor and not getting any better
    Weight - 117KG (getting chubby): Now 118KG - Target 31/12/2019 = 100Kg (Not at all likely TBH)
Green Shopping & Waste - definitely better
Healthy Eating - definitely more frugal and more vegetarian, but not as vegan as planned - difficult to keep a whole day
Simplicity - am gradually getting my accounts under control and will further simplify

Loving the way you are able to break down different areas of the spends into specific areas, hopefully I will be at this stage at some point lol.

Can not wait for the half year review as expecting that will be a detailed breakdown...perfect reading for one of my night shifts I reckon hahaha.

Just a spreadsheet junkie Dan. they are just the categories I label the transactions with and then pivot table them by month and category. can be scary!!

Trying to post more often - its difficult to hide when you have to report every day

Today - 3000 steps : no gold star
No packed lunch hence no NSD but LSD (low spend day - not Lucy ...)
Good economy driving - petrol gauge moving much less than normal for 120 miles
    Cheap pasta and vegetable supper
some CDs and DVDs sorted and ziffit-ed £20

Today 2500 steps - I did more but my Fitbit was on charge for lunch.
    Packed lunch today so NSD.
Rice peas and tuna for tea
Nothing else to report - I really wilt in the heat so a telly evening and an early night

    Today steps 6300
    Leftover packed lunch
Not a NSD as Reading group and my round
Nearest office today and WFH Friday so tank of petrol lasted all week

Bit of a confession I hadn’t noticed the wages from my OH hadn’t gone into the joint account so July will be double bobble. Makes getting closer on the overdraft more feasible. How can you miss £600. Very sloppy but it’s a peril of having such a complicated life. Definitely focus on rationalising and decluttering

Big new project starting up so job will be busy for a while but OH will quieten down over the school holidays. It doesn’t work if we are both busy.

    today steps 3100
WFH so no mileage - basically sat in my study doing stuff, but OH treated me to a nice chicken salad lunch and then left me too it
not a NSD as it was so nice we had an impromptu BBQ for a twilight supper - cooked on one disposable BBQ with vegans going first then a few burgers and a YS steak for the DS2 (there was only 1 :-( )

a bit guilty as we lit up our chiminea (fire bowl) and stayed out late keeping warm and clearing the garden of some old wood. not very eco friendly

OH pay came in a bit late, there was a hiccup with the details, but assurances the next one will be here this month so double bubble. but DD2 is on the point of signing a new house rental for her last year at Uni!! So I imagine some of it will be going that way!!

    total steps today 4800
    Not a NSD

Did lots of chores and sorted out some technical issues with our broadband, working a lot better now.

went out with OH for lunch - we do try and go out together with no kids every so often. had an unexpected drink or two as they were doing buy a main course get a G&T free deal at cafe rouge

had a lovely surprise my OH helped out at the local flower show and the winner of the best in show prize gave her his winning arrangement which is now on display - very happy all round

helped DS1 load up the gym with about a tonne of free weights and a proper bench - stuff he had bought from a friend's dad who couldn't use it any more. so I think I might swallow a frog and cancel the gym although it means I will be giving up a preferential membership rate - my thinking is nothing is more preferential than £0 if I'm not using it
