Just been catching up on a few posts. Nice to see so many people posting, whether its with good news or bad. Makes me realise we are all human and can't get it right all the time. OH had his optician appointment yesterday, was 6 months over due. We knew his eyesight was getting worse with reading and optician has said he now needs varifocals......I have been wearing them for years so we knew it wouldn't be cheap. As he works on computers all day and spends a lot of home time looking at screens as well, he was advised to go for the best lens. Just over £600!!, but we managed £200 deposit, which in pre DMP days we wouldn't have done and we know we have the rest, just need to jiggle the savings pots around a bit. I have a savings pot I name Teeth/Eyes and Prescriptions and we pay regularly into it every week. Although I had to have a lot of dental work last year, so there wasn't as much as I would have liked in there. Never mind, we will survive. I no longer worry about money like I used to. Have managed to cut the food budget down quite a bit, so at least I know there is a bit extra floating around.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115

As you OH works using computers his work should pay for his eye test and possibly his glasses see

Have paid off one credit card this week down to zero. Woohoo!! Admittedly not the highest interest one BUT it was the smallest one and I do feel like I have achieved something by getting rid of one of them. So now I can concentrate on the next...and this will be the highest interest one
Well chuffed.

Yep my OH is in front of multiple screens all day and gets his eye stuff for free. Unfortunately he has to go to the saving specs place as we would rather support an independent but as it free.........I go to an independent and think next one it will be varifocals:(Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Last known expense of the month paid out tonight, £12.23 to last me until Friday. Looks like another month within budget. The zero budget has been the key to my debt reduction.0
