With my E.ON change in tariff using CEC it took 20 days to be processed, and during that period E.ON weren't able to say that they had received the details. The system isn't very transparent. You should expect to get the Cashback because you are justification for the comparison sites existence, and the relationships they have with the suppliers.

And just for clarification e.on back dated the new tariff to the day you applied for the switch with CEC?

Something in-between. It happened that 2 weeks after I had applied my quarterly bill was due, and I submitted a meter reading. E.ON advised me of the change in tariff another week later (still short of the end of the 12 month fix) and they used the date of the bill issued for the new tariff to start.

However at the time posts on this forum raised the issue of tariff changes being applied on the date the application was made.

At the time I calculated that it cost me 93p per week more to move on to the new tariff, before the end of my previous fixed rate deal, but on the other hand I got the £25 cashback and a tariff not bettered my E.ON in the following 4 months.
