:eek::eek: WOW that is perfect - I think he would love that and it gives him so many options! I will definitely be ordering that come pay day!StokieBecks wrote: »Just came in to post in case anyone needs a decent gift for maybe teenagers who are hard to buy for. On the Groupon app there is some superdry watches at £9.98 (plus £1.99 delivery) - on the app there are 4 colours left (only two show as available on the website for some reason). Ordered a couple for the teenagers we have to buy for and they arrived quickly and thought they were a good price at a tenner. Seen the same ones for £25 elsewhere.
I think I might get one of them for my son Ben - hes into his brands at the minute!
Well I have again managed to cut my christmas list down after my sister and sister in law have decided we should just buy for our own this year as money is tight so my list that was 21 gifts  which includes mine and husbands family (but doesnt include buying for my husband or two kids!) has now been cut down to just 8 - :T:T:T
I have started finding things that I am adding to wishlists so its just a case of pushing a button when funds allow it.
Now just trying to think of a nice sailing related gift that can go with this for my father and step mother

but I am getting there slowly. I have also found a lot of little gifts on Wish that seem good for the kids especially decorating Hollys room.
I have also decided to do the snowman boxes to help cut some costs down as well this year. So they will have their 4 gifts each and then familys stuff otherwise the house just gets full of junk.Time to find me again0 -
Wow Sammy, result with slimming down the gift list. You will have to explain to me what a snowman box is please. Not having younger kids and no grandkids I have lost touch with latest trends.
I have been to 2 pounlands but couldn't find any Christmas stuff:( I have noticed Christmas cards in charity shops though.
I have bought some yankee candle tart burner thingies for MIL as she uses them a lot.Think they were 69p each,so got 12.
I also got some zumba leggings in the sale from Matalan for DD2 but it is her 18th soon so may be for that.
Son and lovely GF (nicest he has ever had)are coming up this weekend so if DD1 and BF are back from Edinburgh I think we will have a family get together as Son will probably not be able to get here for DD2's actual birthday.
I have still not done any decorating:eek: I have suddenly had to do a big,big redesign of the garden:rotfl: I have though, bought a fair bit of new to me stuff for the house from FB and maybe a silver necklace for me:rotfl:I have a new mirror for the cloakroom,a new mirror for the spare room,a hurricane lantern for our bedroom and I have rooted in the loft for some decorative bits to dress the house with. I have been NOWHERE near a paint tin.I have also bought several tins of paint,a new gloss brush etc etc etc.:o
I went to see SIL last night. She is home after 7 weeks in hospital. She is extremely poorly, quite shocking to see her.
My nephew is getting married in March which is a lovely thing for her to aim for.
When I went to pick up one of the mirrors I called into a town I have never been shopping in before,Woops I booked 4 nights in Malta in December for £117.Mr V is working so DD1 will be coming.:D
Tomorrow I am going out with my lovely friend to Castle Howard. We have to be in nearby town for pick up at 7:30!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know there was a morning 7:30 too.
We went to stay with my son last week.He took us to a pottery which also had an amazing cafe and gardens. I have agapanthus envy, thats one for Mrs I.
Better crack on.Love to all Vx:0 -
Got a 3 for 2 on le cruset mugs for DS.He was very sad to break his fave le cruset mug recently. So him and MIL done for Christmas.
I have an idea for DS GF which is a start, and no idea whatsoever for anyone else.
We have decided to cut gift giving right back so in theory spending about £30 each SHOULD be easier!
We were very lucky with the weather at Castle Howard yesterday and a grand day out was had.
b#**%y cat woke us at 5am today yowling on the extension roof outside our bedroom at neighbours cat. Drawers I painted already waxed.Going in the garden for an hour before the rain starts.

First Christmas movie watched last night with a lovely cup of hot chocolate. Christmas pjs bought in next with geese all over them. :j
How’s everyone doing x£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Gosh it’s a bit gloomy today, I’m sat here thinking is it too early to set up my hot chocolate station?? :rotfl: We booked our panto tickets the other day, we’re going to see Aladdin with Joe Pasquale just before Christmas. Last year we took Wiggle to a small theatre to see Tabby McTatt but we’re going for the biggie this year! I’m going to be wrapping some Christmas presents tonight, I’m heading over to Gloucestershire to stay with my parents tomorrow as my cousin is getting married and I’m going to the evening do. We won’t have enough room in our car to take all of the presents at Christmas time so I’m taking what I’ve got already and hoping to do it in stages. I’m quite looking forward to a bit of wrapping but it won’t be the same without all of the decorations out! I feel a Christmas film coming on…
sammy that must be a relief your present list reducing so dramatically! What is a snowman box? I'm intrigued.
vulpix sorry to hear that about your SiL, it's never nice to see someone deteriorate like that. I do hope she recovers quickly. We have been hoping to decorate for ages now, we live in a new build so luckily it’s ok but it has no personality! We’ve got someone coming to do some work in the house at the end of September so it’s giving us a kick to actually get some stuff done!0 -
Treasurequeen did you have a nice birthday? x0

Hi there, not been here for a while, been really busy but really need to get into the swing of things and see where I am. Think I just forgot about everything once I had the cakes made in May
It doesn't help that I have meetings every Saturday morning with the charity, it doesn't half b*****r up your day. However, we have August off so am enjoying being able to do things. First Sat I spent sorting out things, getting rid of clothes too big for me now, washing in prep for winter, sorting stuff for bin, recycling, charity. Started at 9am, then realised I was hungry at 7, had only stopped once for a quick cup of coffee all day, but the sense of achievement!
Last weekend went to Polesden Lacey, a National Trust site with a friend, was lovely there and we were lucky as it stopped raining, was a bit blowy, but that got rid of the cobwebs
This weekend on a mission to sort out Christmas, although I have ordered a bag from Debenhams for my friend, she has lupus so can be in quite a lot of pain and keeps saying she wants to get a bag that she can wear across her chest, I managed to get one reduced from £75 to £29, so I hope she will be happy with that. Finally opened a box today which I knew contained something Yankee, was 3 boxes of melts which I bought on offer, just need to work out who is going to be a lucky recipient! Smelt yummy:D
Most importantly this weekend, I need to start packing for my holiday, or more importantly, see how much space I have in the cases for my stuff! Kid have placed orders for Lego & Smashers (don't ask, exactly what it says on the tin!). Also need to make a Christmas cake as their dad's work colleagues have requested one:eek: When will the boxes of sweets be out, if early enough, will probably have to take one with me?
Hope everyone keeping wellA smile costs little but creates much0 -

How’s everyone doing x
The christmas pyjamas sound amazing. That has to be my favourite thing though too - nice comfy pyjamas, hot chocolate and a good xmas film with some candles litprincesskitty29 wrote: »sammy that must be a relief your present list reducing so dramatically! What is a snowman box? I'm intrigued.
This is a snowman box princess and vulpix [IMG][/img]
in the bottom box you put a toy
Middle box is an item of clothing / shoes etc
The head is filled with sweets / foods / treats and then a gift card on the front.
I am hoping this will save me a fair bit of money and means that there wont be lots of unnecessary junk buying just to make the pile look fuller. After all - the kids are now 18, 15 and 9! So I will just fill the boxes for them and then thats it. Thinking I may also do the same for my husband as well as he likes to have lots of little things to open rather than one big present so Im thinking the Go Pro set that MURIE tagged me in will go nicely into one of the boxes.
Obviously they will still have gifts from their grandparents, my parents and my grandmother but Im hoping this will cut down on the stuff. Its disheartening to see them just opening stuff and then moving on because there is just too much.Gettingtherequickly wrote: »

Im sure your friend will love the bag and well done on getting so much done.
I am busy making a list of jobs to tackle when the kids go back to school because trying to get anything done round them is like trying to pin jelly to a wall!
VULPIX - I am glad to hear your SIL is doing better.Time to find me again0 -
Hello all. Im a lurker, never a poster. Id love to join you all on the countdown to the best time of the year. Im a mum to 4 teenagers and usually start my xmas prep in january but im so far behind this year. I usually have half my shopping done by now but all i have so far is a pair of pjs for my eldest!!
I have a load of sorting and decorating i want to do before Santa comes. Will just have to crack on when the kids start back to school/ college.
Hope to post more often now.:j0 -
VULPIX you’ve definitely got your mojo back which is lovely to see. I’m sorry to hear how your SIL has deteriorated though, even when we expect it it’s still so hard to see. It’s good you were able to go and visit her though.
Welcome to the best festive thread HARIBO, four teenagers sounds expensive
I like those snowman boxes SAMMY, thinking about who I’ve got to buy for, I’m not sure if they would work for me but I’m not ruling them out yet.
PRINCESSKITTY, hope you enjoyed the wrapping.
DD1 is planning our Christmas bargains mooches (Home Bargains, The Range, B&M, etc) for when the children are back at school - I can’t wait. Last year we complained in The Range because they had all their Christmas decorations out and the staff were all wearing Christmas jumpers but they were playing boring lift music, no Christmas tunes at all. It’s very hard to enjoy early Christmas prep to a rubbish soundtrack. Apparently they don’t play their Christmas music til December which is way too late for the serious Christmas devotee. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0
