32bit or 64bit Microsoft updates

I recently bought an old refurbished pc via Amazon.
I'm convinced it's a 32bit machine. But I'm getting regular Microsoft updates for 64bit PCs.
This means that the vast majority of all the updates coming through are failing.
It probably means I'm missing all the 32bit versions?
Any ideas?
Cheers

I am very sure you have the 64bit version, as windows know how to update itself.
However you may check it by doing this https://www.lifewire.com/am-i-running-a-32-bit-or-64-bit-version-of-windows-26244750 -
Just click on the search button (dependant on version possibly) and type 'About', that'll bring up the system settings page.0

If its a 64 bit CPU and has 64 bit Windows on it'll do the 64 bit updates. You won't be missing any 32 bit updates because there are none for a 64bit OS.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Thanks for getting back.
I thought perhaps your link was going to do something different and display the version. But it just described what I had already done.
Its a Windows 7 Professional running on a 32 bit operating system.
I've tried to do a screen shot of the update history but failed abysmally.
But basically any update that refers to" X86 based systems" has failed. All the remainder (few) have succeeded, such as Malicious software tool and defender updates.
Is that any help?0 -
I'm probably missing something obvious here, you all think it's 64bit I think it's 32bit.
Let's suppose for the purposes of this, that I'm right?
What next?
By the way what does the x86 mean that I quoted above?
Edit... Just worked out it means 32bit !!0 -
So the X86 updates have all failed? Is that not the 32bit updates then? Have all the updates described as 64bit been successful?
I suspect that you are actually getting all the right updates but there is another reason as to why they are failing.
EDIT: x86 is a 32bit architecture, not 64bit.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

It's definitely 32bit. It says system type: 32 bit operating system.
All the updates that fail relate to x86
I've been back through the update history and they were all going well until August of this year. But it wasn't mine then. Which of course doesn't help at all!0 -

Everything I've stated above is directly from the system. And I stand by it.
However... I've looked up the processor I've got. It's an Intel 2 core T7200 and that's 62bit !!!
So that means its the 32bit updates failing.
However there aren't an equivalent number of 64 bit that are working.
And is it normal to get the 32bit ones coming through?0
