Wireless doorbells

Our doorbell is kaput - doesn't work - over twenty years old.
On the one hand that is very useful, because it means that I do not have to take in various and numerous parcels for the folks next door, because I cannot hear the postman when he rings the bell.
However, I do wish to hear genuine callers and have been looking into replacing it, so how good are wireless doorbell systems and are they easy to fit?
Thanks in advance.:)

Easy to fit two screws for the bellpush and either batteries or usb lead for the chime.0

You can get battery operated chimes(portable) and multiple chimes so can cover more of the house.
Might be a simple(cheap) fix for the one you have if it is just the bell push that has failed.0 -
I have a 1ByOne wireless door bell for about 4 years. It came with a self adhesive pad which was handy as its fixed to a Upvc frame. If like mine yours will be exposed to the elements make sure you get a waterproof push. I also bought a set of wireless units, one is a plug-in and the other battery operated. 1ByOne are not expensive and sell them on Ebay in various combinations, one than one push, and combinations of single and multiple battery and plug in units.0

Our experience of these doorbells, always hit and miss and useless.
I too would be grateful if anyone has used one for a couple of years and reliable.

I have 3 or 4 of these scattered around the house and my workshop, mains operated not battery, just plug the chime unit into a normal power point. Bell push is sticky taped to the UPVC door frame, I've had to re-do the double sided tape a couple of times. Bought them off eBay about 5 years ago, work fine.0

Great, as long as you don't have the same one as your neighbours, otherwise it's bloody annoying when your bell rings everytime they have visitors!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I had one, lasted maybe ayear, then the cold killed it off. They knock on the door or window now...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Wired ones seem best, last for decades and the batteries seem to last alot longer.
I'd check if it's the bell push, keep the wiring and repair or replace.0 -
Lidl "Silvercrest" wireless bell here. Works fine. Must be about 3 years old now. I've changed the push battery once, and the bell unit batteries about every year I'd think.0
