 You can claim Carer’s Allowance provided you are not earning more than £120/week yourself. I agree with Alice that you should start that now, not sure how long claimsare currently taking to process.

 It asks if I have separated from my partner since the claim date... I have, but are they alluding to where they have moved out as opposed to the actual separating?0

 I infer that you are doing it online and are asking for the claim to be backdated by 3 months. Although you can be separated while living together it can be difficult to demonstrate this, I would be inclined to put the moving out date. If there’s somewhere for additional information you can include an explanation.
 Since your entitlement is not affected by whether you were on your own or with a partner I don’t think it’s too critical.
