Entered wrong registration and Smart Parking have refused our first appeal.

Hi all, first post here but I have seen a number of other similar scenarios but none quite the same. We are looking for some advise on the following:-
My other half parked in a Smart Parking monitored car park and stayed there for a duration well within the allocated time paid for, however, she only typed in the last three digits of her registration as this is all she thought was necessary as per other car parks. Now we have received a parking fine due for payment. We appealed showing a photo of the the ticket saying there must be a mistake as we have purchased a ticket and here it is. They have responded saying they are upholding the PCN because only the last 3 digits were typed in. They have extended the discount period until 04.01.2019 because we appealed within the initial discount period.
We have been given a POPLA verification code but we are looking for some advise on what we need to send them. Can anyone help us please?

But you need to steer your appeal away from only having typed in 3 digits. At POPLA it's tantamount to an admission of contravening the rules, and your appeal will be rejected. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
