Morning all
Had a rude awakening as over the road neighbour was having a brick delivery . Why can't delivery men not shout at each other while throwing bricks ! Rant over
Today is a tidy round, dusting and hoovering as I go. The DW is on and I need to do a last wash and finish off the ironing.
This afternoon I want to sort out the dining room cupboard ( my spare tin storage one and I shall put what's left in my upstairs storage one......... did I ever mention that I'm a food hoarder :rotfl:) and bring down the Christmas goodies from in the office. I shall leave all the pressies in there but it will be nice to see the floor/ tops once more. I may delegate that job to Mr Fix It as he's keeps asking "have you bought x, y and z ? " ....... drives me nutty as he's been with me every time I went shopping. Doesn't he take any notice of the things I buy ? Gosh that nearly turned into another rant :rotfl:.
I will ring Dad later to see if he wants/ feels up to coming over for lunch tomorrow, but it will only be pork chops, roasties and mixed veg with gravy. I refuse to go the whole hog this close to Christmas
Tea tonight will be a takeaway, a Chinese I think. It's a tradition to have enough left over for Xmas eve as we will be cooking all that day and the last thing I want to do is cook a meal.
Cranky nice to "see" you. Sorry to hear about your number 2 cat, perhaps the one left is missing it's butty ? Take care of yourself and the HT xx
Nelski thanks for keeping us informed about Holly. Will we recognise you after your makeover ? Just tip us a wink if it's you :rotfl:. Have a good day :A xx
TA ginger cookies mmmmm. I'll look after them for you as you can't be trusted with them
Holly please take care of yourself as best you can. I shall send you many, many hugs my friend xx
Right I suppose I'd better get on and attack the house. What's that you say "Another coffee first " well ok then, I don't mind if I do !!!
Have a good day everyone. Hugs to all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning all! I'm going to shop for a bra today, so that means operation Attempt To Shower is in force....If you hear a bang, i fell over...Should be OK to drive, my arm moves pretty well, haven't lost any strength in it, and the range of movement that's restricted is outside of the wheel arm turning range...
I don't know why we don't all rent a massive house and have christmas together and leave anyone who's being a pain at home....We could sit in a room a alone if wanted, or spend time in a communal hall if wanted...And provide non stop sleeping pills for those who want to sleep through it
OH did the heavy shopping yesterday [think bottles of water and lemonade for snowbals. most importnant] and stacked all the wood from the delivery, and went out and got sh*tfaced [yearly catch up with mates not seen] so he had a productive dayThere's only veg left to get now and a bit of smoked salmon for christmas breakfast, so I might do that after.
Weirdly, having the operation seems to have kick started my muscles because they are not as bad as they were, which is nice...:)
Right, onwards and lifting and separatingly upwards ....Have a good day if you can, if you can't, give some thought to a communal christmas in a scottish house somewhere wild and wooly with a vistorian breakfast array and barNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Taff, yes please!
My OH has been shopping, leaving just the last ,in ute fresh stuff for Monday. However, he knows that although he and DS really enjoy plates of smoked meat, charcuterie in general, it really is not my thing so I asked him to get a selection of cheese for me. I'm quite unimpressed by nasty plastic red Leicester, I'd use that for cooking if I had nothing else. He has bought camembert but I asked him not to, we both love it but the stink around the house is awful even if wrapped and locked into a tin. Also he wants roast pork tomorrow, I don't like it but will eat a little bit if smothered in apple sauce, he knows thus but did not think to buy a cooking apple and I've used up tge apple sauce from the freezer.
Rant over, going to li*l in a minute on the bus.
Hope everyone has a good day, Nelski please send my love to Holly.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
I am back 6 ginger cookies heavier! I knew I couldn't be trusted to make them whilst my hobby is comfort eating! I brought the stepstool in and they are now out of reach at the very top of a cupboard where they are not so easy to get at!
Aw bless you RR. I am fine really I'm just finding it difficult to get out of CBA mode.
CRANKY DD got me a candle surrounded by stars in a little glass holder. When you light it some of the stars are supposed to shine brightly and she said much the same as you. I haven't lit it yet but I may take it down to DD's Christmas Eve when I will be staying over to share the excitement of the girls opening their Christmas Eve boxes and next day's horde of stuff!
Btw my elusive parcel was finally delivered yesterday morning. Much relief as it's a Sprocket gift bundle for one of the girls for Xmas and they don't come cheap!
NELSKI not good news on our dear HOLLY. I hope she does get to her DB's house for Christmas and they spoil her rotten.
TAFF shouldn't you be taking it easy?! (Editing to add yes count me in for the Scottish country house Christmas. I'll bring the ginger cookies if I don't eat them all en route!)
Bye again folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Don't worry, I haven't gone yet, am on the second cup of tea while I gear myself up. Shopping today will be a nightmare but I doubt there'll be much lingerie shopping going on unless it's full of men buying it for presents and being wildly inaccurate about bra sizes
I might take a look at what's available for next year re Scottish housesNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Am going nowhere near a shop now, until at least Wed.I'm sick of all the hype n the crowds.Baah humbug :rotfl:
Am popping to Mum's soon, to drop her pressies off, one of which is an electric spiralizer, which she'll prob give to someone else :DI'm seeing her on Xmas day, but want her to have something to open on Xmas morning.
TA be kind to yourself hun. It's a difficult time of year , on top of what you're enduring at the mo:A

TAFF count me in for the country house
Right best get moving.Huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Could the HT and I be included for the country house please? He is very quiet and can make tea and coffee although if he's making toast as well the toaster still makes him jump when it pops up :rotfl: I can bring proper mince pies0

I have a Scottish country small cottage - does that count? All welcome. It could hold everyone’s virtual bodies. I now have a picture in my mind of the scene in ‘Truly, Madly Deeply’ when Alan Rickman brings all his friends to live in the flat!
Shopping mission done. Gifts delivered. DM fed and hugged.
TA - it’ll be a rough ride this year. Pour a sherry, strap yourself in and go with it. Weep, laugh, rage and be still. It’ll all happen both to you and around you.0
