    That's it exactly,

I'm using Microsoft Office Professional 2010, and each time I try to re-install, I receive a multitude of error messages, the latest message is as follows:-

"Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 cannot verify the licence for this application. A repair attempt failed or was cancelled by the user, the application will now close down"

As a last attempt for the day (as my head is throbbing) I am currently running the Repair feature in Set-up, and it is currently going through the Configuration process (incredibly slowly), and so I will update you tomorrow on my progress, as I've had enough and I'm off to bed.

First of all, your device will have a licence for Windows 7 if you update to BIOS(if you have not already done so). So you can install Windows 7 or 10 at no cost.

Ideally the best plan of action would be to check the BIOS firmware is up to date, swap the old HDD for an SSD(around £19 these days https://www.mymemory.co.uk/integral-120gb-p-series-5-sata-iii-ssd-drive-560mb-s.html) and clean install Windows 7 Pro to it.

You can appeal to AndyPix for a new key for Office 2010 Professional Plus and to me for the media, if you didn't do so earlier.
Office Professional Plus 2010 is a Volume Licence product. From whence did you obtain the key in the first place?

Can you explain that term please?

As stated in my previous post -Post#8- the discs(office 2007) were purchased in early 2010 and the Office 2010 disc followed. We have the 20 digit key for both.

    Are you williacg?
  • UPDATE:

I can happily report that following re-installation and selecting the Repair option, Office is now up and running again.

Many thanks for all advice and support.

Many thanks for your advice, and I when I get a chance will follow your advice regards to upgrading.

I'm a little confused as to why you ask Cardew if they are Williacg!

That post was meant to be deleted. I forgot that Cardew had also written about Professional Plus. It seems that I accidentally deleted the wrong reply.

What's the Service Tag/Express Code on your device? https://www.dell.com/support/home/th/en/thbsdt1

Bit late for my suggestion, but I'll make it anyway.

Might it not be easier to download and use Libre Office.

It's free and I find using it no problem.

It easily opens all my very old now Microsoft Office stuff and I didn't lose anything with the changeover.
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
