Your Xmas shopping sounds like mine. Most of it wrapped and maybe two gifts left to get. But omg at the cost. I have been saving all year, but definitely gone over. Am planning on really scaling back on food (we have pizza on Xmas day anyway) as last year the amount I bought was ridiculous!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3

Sounds like you're really organised for Christmas. The big booze shop sounds fabulous too, we need to do ours but as we have limited self control with alcohol if it's in the house we have to wait until next weekend3

We're rubbish with self control around alcohol... with our Christmas stash, I've hidden it in bedrooms so we're not tempted to go rummaging!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Busy few days at work, had to go in on one of my non working days for a training day which was annoying as it's eaten into my Christmas prep (and sorting my life out) time.
No news on the money front really, a boiler service payment schedule has ended (it was the cheapest way to pay for a massive repair last year), so that's another £32 a month in the pot.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Been watching 'til debt do us part' on Netfl!x, I love those sorts of programmes
Glad the election is over, armchair politics 'experts' have been getting on my tits with their social media wittering. I never understand why people feel the need to lecture, it's very patronising. Do your own research and vote for who you want to, don't inflict your yawnsome opinions on others
Over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to redo my SOA based on the year's income/expenditure. YNAB has been helpful for the latter part of this year, although I don't feel I use it to it's full potential. Definitely a mission for 2020. We still have a lot of money disappearing into the ether.
The money we owe my FIL (£8.5K), we're due to pay it off in 2 parts; 50% in spring and 50% the following year. We're waiting to see what OH's bonus will be in the New Year, but we're debating just paying the whole debt back in 2020. This should be very doable, so will be one of my financial targets next year.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Totally agree on the armchair politics, drives me mad. I gave myself an early Christmas present and deactivated all my social media on the 1st of December, it's been bliss
Sounds like a good plan for 2020, good luck!3 -
I worked a very long 12 hour day yesterday, lucrative though, I think after deductions I should get £180 which will be nice. Doing the same next Saturday too.
Today we went to a family Christmas do which was lovely, took a pud along that I made from stuff we had in the house. Kids were all Christmassy looking and it was lovely to see everyone.
3 more work days, plus the 12 hour side hustle and then I'm off until 6th Jan. Bliss, can't wait!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Last day at main job until new year - yay! 1 more side hustle shift on Saturday and then I'm off for a while.
Unexpected car bill this week completely ate up what I earned last Saturday; annoying, but at least it was there ready to pay the billDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Last day of school today for my 5, picking them up in just over an hour. Spent the morning cleaning, sorting, tidying.... had a good clear out of the playroom, always find it best to do that when little eyes aren't around!
Everything's wrapped, apart from one gift that should be coming tomorrow. Cards written and posted and food shop ordered. Feeling pretty organised and once I get home tomorrow from work CHristmas has begun as far as I'm concerned!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
