  • Yey to a brand new Henry. Honestly I love mine, even if I swear he actually gets caught on the door frame on purpose, little smiling git :rotfl:

    In other news...

    - we went for the Henry hoover in the end, after discount it was £120 and that included loads of extra bags
    - I got 3 free boxes from Hello Fresh (3 friends sent me trial vouchers), so we got 9 free meals! Lovely... the box we had this week was lush.
    - I agreed to my daughter having 5 friends over for a sleepover for her birthday party... relatively cheap, but not stress free! But her other favoured choice of party would cost £250 plus, so we'll put up with the hassle of 5 excited girls for 1 night!

For a five hour party that’s £50 an hour. And even if goes on and on and involves a sleepover it’s still a £10.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • Well done on the lower credit card bill!
Sleepover sounds like a great party - most kids prefer that kind of thing over the out of the box parties anyway!

Great reduction on your CC bill. I was glad when my kids no longer wanted traditional parties. It made life so much cheaper and easier

  • Uneventful weekend... working and painting!! 2 NSDs though

Started Christmas shopping, trying to spread the cost across a few paydays! Being very mindful of what I'm buying and keeping lists
Day off tomorrow = more painting... end is in sight of this particular stage as carpet is being laid next week.
No other news really, all very dull :rotfl:

  • Uneventful few days, just trying to muddle through until payday. It's been really long and arduous month financially and work wise, feeling a bit wrung out. We've managed to stay out of our overdraft and paid off the hefty credit bill (as mentioned above), so overall am pleased. Although I know the next couple of months will be tricky with Christmas expenses.
Had a letter from water company, underpayment is nearly paid back (their mistake!) one more month and then DD reduces by £20 to £45pm, which considering it's for 7 of us is probably ok.

It has been a really tough month for lots of us I think. Well done for sticking with the programme and reducing your CC
