There are knock on effects too.... he took today off work, I've taken tomorrow off as couldn't find childcare. That's 2 wasted holiday days in my mind.

Going back to the car(s), I have a plan or 2....
1) OHs car; this time we will pay the balloon payment in 2 years, if OH gets good bonuses then some of that will help, anything we're short will be put on a 0% card. 4 year old versions of OHs car are worth £10-12K, so we could sell it and buy a car with the remainder. Chances of convincing OH of that last sentence are minimal though
2) lease car is a 4 year lease, when that's finished, we will buy a car outright. Not quite sure how yet, but 4 years is a long way away and not planning on having debt by then!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

NSD days yesterday and today, for me anyway!!
Weather is rubbish, so have mainly been tidying, organising and doing chores.
House insurance is up for renewal and I couldn't find a better deal than the auto renewal my current place offered. Sad times, but wasn't a big increase on last year.
Won £50 on premium bonds which was nice, we have £500 worth. Didn't list them on original SOA as kind of forgot about them. £50 has gone in christmas fundDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

We got given £100 worth on the birth of each child, so some of them are 15 years old. This is the first time we've ever won :rotfl: I quite like having them sat there though, gives a little hope of a nice win one dayDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Work today, it was so nice having the weekend off! Looking forward to when that's a permanent thing
OH didn't end up spending too much extra after all on his weekend away. There was only one pub in the local village to where they were, the food was rancid and the locals were hostile to them  so they didn't go back, cooked and got takeaways instead. OH and one of his friends paid for food last time, so this time the others insisted on covering. Bonus! He even came back with some of the cash....
So cost of the weekend was still £300ish, but not as much as the £450 I'd projected.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Good news about your husband's relatively low spends!
That'll help with Christmas!

Uneventful few days, just been working, NSDs though.
Credit card was £1500 this month, which is amazing for us. As I've said before, we use it as a float and it averages £2200-2800 and I'm trying to get ahead of it so only food and fuel goes on it. Last month was £3300 after our holiday, so to have paid that down and for it to be relatively small this month feels a bit of an achievement.
We achieved it by;
-usual £2200 payment
-£500 from extra shifts
-£50 premium bond win
-£450 tax rebate
-£150 tickets sale
Originally some of these were going in a Christmas fund, but that seemed counterproductive with such a large CC bill sat there. Instead, I'll put the extra £700 that would usually go to the CC (to pay an expected £2200 balance) aside for Christmas. Hope that makes sense!
This month's CC balance has been lower as we've been extra careful with expenditure, £650 is food £250 is fuel.... the other £600 is mainly child related expenses (clothes, trips etc) plus my husband's weekend awayDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

In other news...
- we went for the Henry hoover in the end, after discount it was £120 and that included loads of extra bags
- I got 3 free boxes from Hello Fresh (3 friends sent me trial vouchers), so we got 9 free meals! Lovely... the box we had this week was lush.
- I agreed to my daughter having 5 friends over for a sleepover for her birthday party... relatively cheap, but not stress free! But her other favoured choice of party would cost £250 plus, so we'll put up with the hassle of 5 excited girls for 1 night!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
