very funny - all of the above would be my bet
You were right :rotfl: Little tearful as I dropped him off, sunglasses were handy! Cheeky coffee and cake with a friend and then home for a bit of a kip. He was only there for the morning, but seemed to enjoy it and went in happily again this morningDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Great news that he enjoyed it and long may it last! You were dead right to go for a coffee with your friend. It's an emotional day and you deserved a pick me upTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It was a bit emotional ( in my head anyway)... nearly 16 years I've had a baby/toddler/preschooler, so it's been very strange seeing my youngest go into school and not having anyone else to worry about. I've spent nearly 4 years pregnant and over 6 years breastfeeding over that time too. It's odd to know that that part of my life is over, but I'm also looking forward to being able to watch them grow up without the distraction of a little one.
It also brings into focus that I'm pleased I've always maintained some form of career, albeit very part time. I don't do well when I'm idle, I like to be kept busy.... no fear of idleness this coming year anyway!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Busy day today, lots of picking up/dropping off, couple of appointments and general chores. Should be a NSD
Working tomorrow and Sunday, so they should be NSDs too. We have got friends coming over both evenings, but have already got the food in for that.
It's been easier to keep on top of everything with the others being at school, although there's been a lot of to-ing and froi-ing with the settling in sessions for my little one. Still, has meant I can focus on making the transition as smooth as possible for himDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

It's getting chilly, the heating kicked in this morning!
Shopping at Mr A is going well, I think it's coming in about £40 a week cheaper, although I'm waiting a month to get an overall picture.
Child 2 left his PE kit in his locker over the summer holidays and it's now gone (school empty the lockers to reallocate)... £50 to replace it, plus trainers and a PE bag, so £100 all in. Very sad
NSD planned today, just running errands and catching up on admin.
It's nice to have this week away from hospital job, I'm trying to get completely organised ready for when work steps up in November, it feels like ages awa, but I know how fast it will go!DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Ugh it's so annoying when they lose things in school! Spud left his lunchbag in school last week - am hoping to see it again because the lunchbox in it was nearly £40!! (It's a metal one that will last years - provided he's not lost it for good).2

Amazing stuff on the shopping. That's some difference! So frustrating about the PE kit. Hope you're enjoying your week off!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Our utility provider swap has gone through, we've moved to bulb who take payment in advance and I had to pay the balance of old provider too. However, because of the cheaper tariff with bulb, it was only £20 extra paying both this month, which was better than it could have been! From now on, the utility bill should be £50pm cheaper
I've been repaying a salary overpayment (their error!) of £36 a month for the last 18 months and have just paid the last installment, so that's another thing ticked off the list
I subscribed to a fitness app last month and have been using my fitness pal to track my calories. I've also tried increasing my step target to 12000 per day. I've lost 2lb in the last month and I know full well where I'd need to make improvements if I wanted faster results. I had a bit of a shock to find that my fitness pal says I can only eat 1300kcal a day if I want to lose 1lb a week through diet alone. I've set it at 1800kcal instead and am doing 500kcal of exercise 3-4 days a week. Hence the 2lb instead of 4lb loss. I'm happy with that pace for now, I don't want to be hungry (or give up alcohol) and I don't want to do more exercise :rotfl:DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

I just changed my electricity provider. It's like getting free money isn't it?
Must have been so irritating at the time about the wages overpayment but that's another £36 a month in your pocket now!
I am also trying to lose weight but in a slower, more sustainable way as I also don't want to give up alcohol!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
