Oooh how very cheeky of Kidspass  good idea to send the letter recorded delivery, so annoying that companies don't ever seem to give a monkeys about their failings.
Great result on the 2 extra bottles of wine though, cheers to you! :beer:1 -

Uneventful day as have been at work.... LSD, just some nice reductions at the end of the day, nice perk of the job.
Having another few days of arguing with my entitled daughter as to what is a want and what is a need. She was in full on psycho. hormonal b*itch mode tonight. I'm actually looking forward to her earning a little part time wage when she turns 16 so she (hopefully) realises that money doesn't grow on trees (I sound like my parents). Her latest one is 'actually, money is paper.. paper comes from wood and wood comes from trees' !!!!!! no wonder I drink so much wineDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

This made me laugh out loud!!
My daughter is only 4 - going in 14 - and already driving us to drink more than we should! I’m dreading the teenage years!!19/8/19 vs now Current Total debt £14,188 Savings £2757

16 is peak teenage.
I half jokingly warn that people who say their 4-11 years old are like little teenagers that they have got a real shock coming as there is an order of magnitude difference !!
Then it gets better again and it’s all worthwhile as you see what lovely adults you have helped raiseI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Another teacher here.....biscuits for the staff room are fine. Really do not need expensive gifts and we have told our parents this! We have a nice collection of biscuits and chocolate that will be appreciated over the holidays as we all go in to work to catch up and clean up and prepare for September......Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Thank you, children are so challenging aren't they? My aunt recently said to me 'if you find parenting teenagers easy, you're probably doing it wrong'. Don't know if it's true, but gives me hope! She has 3 grown daughters and says she really didn't like them much for a good few years each :rotfl: and they're all lovely now. Fingers crossed for the strength to navigate it without turning into a complete lush!
One of the parents in my 7 year olds class suggested putting £10 in a pot for their teacher and TA, which I did (will keep the wine for my supply instead :rotfl:) She's collected £300; £200 for teacher and £100 for TA, she's getting John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers with it. So nice!
Quiet day planned today, chores and chilling in equal measure. I booked the older 2 cinema tickets, so £15 spent there, but other than that, no spends planned today.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Realised I haven't really mentioned my other targets for the year.
I wanted to lose some weight... I'm not overweight, my BMI was 23 in January. But I was larger than I like to be and a bit wobbly. I've lost 5lbs so far and ideally I'd like to lose another 9... I haven't been particularly religious with it, but I've been eating healthier and trying to cut the mindless snacking (definitely room for improvement though)
I've been averaging 10000 steps a day, to be honest without even trying. My job(s) are active and the days I don't work, school runs and chores mean I meet the steps.
On average, I've been doing 2 alcohol free evenings.
Can't remember my other targets, will have to go back and reread them :rotfl:DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Having read back, they were my main targets....
so, now we're more than half way through the year, I'm going to set some stricter targets and update them each month- Average 12000 steps a day
- Try for 3 alchohol free evenings a week
- Lose 1lb a month
- Bring grocery bill down to £600 a month
- Stop living a month in arrears on the credit card
The grocery bill and the credit card aims are what I'm going to focus on monthly while using YNAB to monitor other spending. Once we've got groceries and credit card under control, I'd like to set some more fun targets, like saving for a holiday or overpaying mortgageDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Sounds like a good set of targets there! I’ll be following along to keep you accountable!1
