You're very brave adding your mortgage to your signature, I can't bring myself to do it as I'm slightly in denial :rotfl:
I put the mortgage on my sig as it drops below £200k in the next month or two :j:j:jI used to be broke now I'm just skint2 -
Childminding today, friend's children though, so mate's rates. Still, £50 earned.
Tomorrow, my eldest 2 want to see a film tomorrow, so have bought them tickets and will give them money for lunch....I will take the younger 3 to an activity centre that they all love and take a picnic. Won't get change from the money earned today, but a nice day out for all.
Have rounded our mortgage up to make a regular overpayment... it's only £23pm extra, but I don't think we'll miss it and it will add up over the months, plus the amount will look neater on our bank statements :rotfl:DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

I’m a big fan of rounding things up. Every little helps
You’re doing very well keeping the kids entertained without blowing the budget. Summer holidays are one of the few times I’m very glad I work full time and DH covers all the childcare 😂3 -
I've decided to reduce my income streams.. or streamline my income? I've given notice to the parents of my mindees… have said I'll be stopping at Christmas at the latest, which I think is plenty of notice. I reckon hospital work and retail is enough to be doing.. will miss my mindees, but I need to focus on the job(s) that make ends meet efficiently and will suit us as a family long termDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Older two enjoyed cinema, I ended up booking the a 1pm show so they could have lunch at home and bought them sweets from local shop. Younger 3 happy just to go to local park, met up with friends after lunch. So I only ended up spending £17 all day, relative bargain.
Going with friends to NT place tomorrow, taking a picnic. There are 4 of us with 15 children between us... thinking we might not go inside the actual property :rotfl:DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

LOL. Maybe a cricket or rounders match in the grounds? Hope you don't get the thundery showers we are predicted to get in the west country.
NT are great value places and in the summer holidays they often do kids orientated things. In one of our local ones they had Victorian games which my 3 year old DGD loved seeing her nanny try and hula hoop :rotfl:
Good result on the £17 for cinema/park trip especially with 5 children.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Such a lovely day at NT place - we were there from 10-5! Took a picnic and bought ice cream while there (£8), but all in all a fab (and cheap) day out. I find NT membership such good value, today would have cost £53 to get into the house and grounds... I'd only have to go twice to break even on membership.
I love seeing the kids away from gadgets and just going back to basics.
Relatively quiet day planned tomorrow, chores and chilling! No arguments, happy faces... lovelyDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Very uneventful (slightly boring!) day today, would have been a NSD except OH going out tonight. We've got £25 cash in the house and so I have asked him just to take that and not his card... he has a tendency to be the first to buy a round... there are 8-10 of them that go out and he only tends to have 4-5 drinks, but his round costs over £60!!
There are a few that conveniently leave before it's their round every time. Slightly annoying! He'll probably ignore me and still take his card and spend loads. He's too worried about appearing tight, but I fins it annoying as I'm working tomorrow and he'll probably spend the equivalent of my day's earnings on a round!
Working tomorrow and the I'm out tomorrow night, I'll stick to the £25 limit that I set OH and I'm driving (would have cost a fortune in taxis) so should be easy to doDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Yummy dinner last night and managed to stick to my £25 budget for meal.... I then paid my friend's parking as she drove, so that was an extra fiver... but still pleased for a Saturday night out
NSD planned today, just pottering around at home, maybe a trip to the park if the weather holds up.
One thing I've noticed with YNAB is we really don't have much spare money after all..... I think my original SOA was pretty aspirational. This has surprised me as I thought I was being pretty generous in my columns. There's definitely wriggle room, but if we want to save or overpay, we'll really have to watch every penny, especially if I want to cut back on the side hustles to get more timeDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)
