Sky you MUST call 0870

I got a letter from sky and was thinking of rejoining... anyway the number was 0870 and I thought well Im not calling that, so I went to saynoto0870. tried a couple numbers and got through. first women cut me of saying she was going to transfer me.

second time another women said she would transfer me, she then came back and we had following convo..

Sky: is there a number on letter
Me: yes
Sky what is it:
me: 0870 blahblah blah
Sky: did u call that
Me: no
sky: why
me: why should i call 0870 national rate
Sky i cant transfer you there you have to call that number.
Me: its fine dont want sky in that case.


i cant believe how greedy they are. damn virgin don't have cabel in my area. Oh well guess its saved me £16-20 month lol

I never call any company with an 0870 number, as it's just so darn cheeky! I've tried lots of the numbers on "saynoto0870.com" and most work! Try calling Sky again on the free number, and if they ask what number you've called, say it's the 0870 one! IF she had to ask, she obviously didn't know!

On the other hand, who needs sky TV when there's plenty of other carp to watch on the free channels?!

It's not national rate anyway, it's a premium rate.

Ntl charge what? 3p a minute for land line calls at peak times.
What do BT charge?

0870 numbers are charged between 8p - 10p.

If I am asked where I got the number from, I say I was told the number by a Sky employee and can't remember their name. What business is it of theirs anyway, it is only to make sure they can block the few remaining numbers and force you to ring the rip off number.

I dumped Sky a few months back because we have a great big tree that blocks the signal.

Freeview is just as good and once you pay for the initial box, there is no subscription or expensive and frustrating telephone calls when things go wrong.

SKY tv ,,,,,,,,,,,what a waste of money, junk tv programs Screen logo's adverts,adverts,adverts, what keeps them going are the sport nuts. I mean how much repeated tv do you want to watch, we the punters are being conned. But more and more of us are seeing the light "goodbye sky" hello freeview

Next time anyone asks if you called the 0870 number, just say yes!! If they knew for sure you didn't (they obviously suspected it), they wouldn't ask and double check.

I did just that when I got sky+, denied I didnt call an 0870 number, made some story up about being transfered twice as I mistakenly choose the wrong option (all tales of course) on the menu etc etc. The operator accepted it and transfered me, no problem!

^^ What he said! I just said I got put through to the wrong option. I was transferred without a problem.

didnt think of that. Thanks for that. I think I shall just stick to my normal box and save some money. Only reason I was going to buy it was to record in HD so I might as well just get a Freeview HD Box.

Just tried the usual number I have and another couple from Saynoto0870 and get told this service is no longer available please dial 0870 etc.
