Ebay auction. Offered cash?

Can we please just clarify ebay terms and conditions here please as per the OPs original request.
Receiving an offer through ebay and selling 'off ebay' breaks several ebay rules
Aren't such ebay rules just there to protect ebay's profits?
I can't see that ending an aution early and accepting a cash offer is anything out of the ordinary...0 -

Possibly not if you want to risk your ebay account. If you have kids is this what you teach them about moral values?????
   Who made you the boss of the moral crusade????
Have you toed the line all your life, paid your dues and never been a second late with making any sort of payment? If you have then your probably the only person I have ever had any sort of interaction with that has!!
I do have two kids and I teach them that it is wrong to steal, bully, etc, I would also tell them its ok to take a cash offer of two hundred for an item that they had paid to advertise for sale than run the risk of having to take half that just so as to not upset a !!!!!! like you!!!0 -

So OP should ignore people offering cash, and just sell via ebay and get hit with ebay and presumably paypal fees?0 -

Yes if he/she wants to sell on ebay in the future. Obviously there is no requirement for anyone to have an ebay account so if anyone wishes to gamble with having theirs suspended then they may be tempted to break a few rules.
Losing my ebay account would hit me and my online sales so I prefer to follow those terms and conditions I signed up for, however other people may be much less concerned about keeping their account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi all.
I did reply to the cash offer saying I would accept it if a deal could be completed with enough time left for me to cancel the auction. I did feel this was a little immoral but I think if I had £200 cash in my hand my thoughts would not be of guilt! or in anyway negative.
As it happens the offerer never replied so that's solved my dilemma. I do appreciate everyones responses and I do take heed. If the circumstances occur again I think I would again accept a sensible offer especially if it offered the security of cash in hand. I can swallow the guilt however if I was caught and had to suffer the consequences then maybe my view would change.
Thanks

Good ...at least we've established that you admit you teach your kids it's okay to take money in an underhanded way ( also known as stealing to honest people !:rotfl::rotfl:) ...and that you obviously have a filthy crude mouth on you.
I guess on that basis that does make me better than you........by a loooooong way....still as long as you're happy with your lack of morals and use of the English language ...Good Luck to you....:T:T;);):p:pif i had known then what i know now0 -

There's nothing immoral about selling your own belongings and not giving an American company a slice of the action.0 -
