Customer feedback on Economy Energy
Options
I’m breaking the habit of a lifetime to post to a forum - but I feel it’s my responsibility to warn you about Economy Energy.
I was a customer for 12 months until Oct 2018.
In that time:
Their App failed to record any of my electricity meter readings
My gas meter readings were registered but only as “estimated”
One month they failed to take both Direct Debits (for gas and electricity)
After months of under-billing they changed my electricity direct debit (with my agreement) to a sum that was far too high (because, frankly, they had no real idea what my consumption was)
They took Direct Debits the month following my change of supplier (leaving me hundreds of pounds in credit)
When I FINALLY (after 2 months) received closing statements there was no automatic refund of the credit in my account.
It was only after I phoned the customer service desk (and was held in a queue for 20mins) that I was told I had to REQUEST a refund and it would take 28 days to credit my account
They are truly unfit for purpose and I would strongly discourage anyone from signing up.

28 Days could take 8 months.0 -
