London shares are priced in pennies not pounds, that is (a) to confuse foreigners and (b) a leftover from the days of shillings and pence.
So 114 shares at 375 pence each = about £428 I think.0 -
£3.75 - Dragon Oil has had rights issues in the past but that certainly doesn't decrease your number of shares. If you have less shares than when you started, then you either sold them or had a reverse split. Consolidation of share capital generally means they have reduced the number of shares outstanding. Sometimes with a return of capital (special cash payout)FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

Thanks for the Prudryden - initially 2857 shares were bought, having spoke to them on the phone they have confirmed we only have 114 shares, we were never given a return of capital, does that sound right to you?0

Some funds can not invest in penny stocks so it makes sense they would consolidate the shares
Did they not issue dividends in this 10 years, 250 worth 428 now is about 5.5% growth per year which aint so bad. They have your correct address now I guess0 -
Hello all, first time here!
I started off with a non-advisory Hoodless Brennan account. Now they have stopped that and transferred us to TD Waterhouse I find I have to trade on a standard computer, I can't use my mobile internet which for me is no use at all.
Martin and anyone else can you suggest a broker who will have the same or similar set-up to Hoodless Brennan.
1. Allow me to use mobile internet to trade.
2. Give me the 'perks' i.e dividends
3. Low costs!0 -

I suspect he is referring to a handheld device such as a smart phone which does not have full Internet explorer capabilities. When I was on TD I used a laptop on occasion to connect to them.
thanks tradetime, so are you saying that the critical factor is that my device will need "full internet explorer capability", so i'm thinking a netbook should be ok?
will ask for any recomendations on device and which dongle over on the techie forum.
cheersPlease note, we've had to remove your signature because it was sh*te!0 -
I'm guessing, from what he has said, I'm sure he will clarify in due course, but I can confirm from personal experience as little as 6 months ago, that I was able to operate my TD account from my laptop. This discusses browser compatibility.
I see no reason why a netbook would not be suitable, but to be absolutely sure since I've never used a netbook, if no-one steps up to confirm, you could always give TD customer services a bell.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
