Thanks both. I ended up buying AGCP.L which the system accepted (its the same thing but priced in sterling). Seems TDW's system does not like anything priced in dollars as I had the same error message come up with CRUD.L (ETFS Crude Oil fund priced in $).

TD Waterhouse's system cannot quote you prices for non sterling denominated products, I used to have an account with them, big argument and we parted company I suppose you could call it irreconcilable differences :)

They must be basically the same thing because halifax wont take crud.l just the usd one which they translate according to the current exchange rate.

Maybe TD doesnt have foreign currency abilities. I dont suppose halifax is that competitive, they probably make some money on the spread or something. I wonder who takes the exchange money spread on the crud.l

Ive had to sign a nyse form along the way, that probably helps

selftrade wont return anything on crud.l but crud works which it then lists as crud.l

Oh they have fx facility they give you a 3% spread by subtracting 1.5% from the bid and and adding 1.5% to the ask, sweet deal, but they told me their paltform could not quote US$ denominated issues and I'd have to place such orders over the phone, at their phone rate, I declined (roughly translated.)

Very illiquid (AGCP). Only traded once today, according to time and sales - must have been you. Hope you do well.
