    Talk to Trading Standards.

What for? Curry's haven't done anything wrong. As I said they've gone beyond what they have to do. That's why the vouchers are acceptable, it's currently nothing but a goodwill offer.

Talk to Trading Standards. Sale of goods act applies, should be of merchantable quality and would expect a far longer life span. My current washing machine, Indesit is actually 10 years old. Had a fault last year and engineer carried out a repair to circuit board - cost me £50 and still going strong. Average 5 washes per week.According to Which average life before repaair/replace is around 5 years.

Sale of Goods Act was superseded several years ago. Trading Standards don't deal with individual complaints. The expected life of an item can vary hugely - eg it would be reasonable to expect a Miele machine to last 5 years or more, but not necessarily a Logik (Curry's own budget brand).

Given that it's a cheaper brand and a refurbished unit, I'd say £111 is OK.

Where do you get that from? OP says they had a kitchen refurb, not that they bought a refurb washing machine.

PS - What is meant by a "paddle"? What sort of washing machine is it? (Or does OP mean one of the "fins" inside the drum has broken off)? If yes then the suggestion below is a good one - especially if the £111 doesn't require OP to return the machine.
Can't you buy the seal, then use something like Araldite / JB Weld to re-attach the paddle?
