I switched from them in October 2018, I have contacted them several times and get what I assume is a standard reply stating they are 'looking into it' and the 'refunds department will contact me soon'. It is now over 3 months approacing 4 months and I am still waiting for the £270 or so they owe me.
I had trouble joining the ******** too. They started taking money long before giving me an account number so I could access my account.

Economy Energy has gone out of business.
Ovo will be refunding your credit balance in due course. Have a read of https://www.ovoenergy.com/economy-energy (especially the last FAQ)
At the moment, Ovo are in the process of transferring EE's customers to them - only once they have received information from EE's administrators confirming which ex-customers EE owed money too, will they be able to refund your credit balance.
They are very busy atm - EE had approx 250,000 customers so I would wait several weeks before contacting them.. but you're guaranteed to eventually get your money.0
