door lock / handles : change operation ?

This wooden door ( 3 pictures below) has what I would call UPVC type door locks, center lock point with extra locking points top and bottom
But the operation of the lock is unusual to me, and different to how my UPVC door locks
i.e
If unlocked
The wooden door, if un-locked can be opened by the handle from BOTH sides
The UPVC door, if un-locked can ONLY be opened by the handle on the inside
[edited : to add]
If locked
Both doors can be opened with the key and using the handle
I would like to convert the wooden door to work in the same way as the UPVC one ?
What are the parts required and the correct name to describe them and their action

You should be able to adapt that one to work. If you take a handle off you should have a square chunk of metal connecting the two, just cut it down so it just fits to the locking mechanism without going through to touch the other handle.
Obviously at that point the redundant handle will be there for decorative purposes only.0 -
keeping in mind you would then not be able to ever get in from the outside, even if in possession of they key, as the handle will no longer operate the top and bottom levers. These won't be operated by turning the key.0

Thanks,
Yes it does feel as the square bar bar directly connects both sides on the wooden one as they both move in unison but on the UPVC one they are separate handles which can move independently
but as its a front door, I do still need to be open it from the outside, but ONLY when unlocked !
So the outside handle does still need access the lock somehow ?0 -
There is another issue here maybe - on the finger plates for the handles is it correct that there are screws BOTH sides, so you could unscrew the handle from the outside?
If so - and this lock protectors you property - the handles need replacing, as with a screwdriver and mulgrips you could silently open that door in less than 30 seconds from the outside.
Replacing the handles so there are only screws on the inside adds a few seconds and makes more noise to the break-in. Might want an anti-bump anti-snap lock in there too, if it isn't. I see the kite mark but can't see the make.0 -

No don't think so - trick of the light on the photo ?
The fingerplate on outside of the door (https://ibb.co/XVtHNNY) looks like its got blind fixings on that side, so it secure I think0 -
ah ok - the reflections looked like slots.
I don't know any way of making this type of lock do what you want. I'm not expert, but do maintain a few similar.0 -
Found this ...
Looks like we have "Lever Lever" and need "Lever Pad" type lock AND the handles to match
Check the locking operation of your old lock. Ideally you need the same locking operation to avoid compatibility issues with the handle set. There are 3 main types of locking operation: Lever lever, Lever Pad and Key operated (wind up):
Lever lever is when the door handle has to be lifted to engage the locks then turn the key once to lock. The door can be opened by pushing down the handle set from either side when unlocked.
Lever Pad is the same as lever lever but a key must be used to gain access from outside even when the door is unlocked.
Wind up is when the door key has to be turned several times to engage all the locks, the handle is not used to lock the door.

Sounds like it. I've only ever used lever-lever based on that.0

"ERA Door Lock Specification:
2 mini hook,
1 centre latch,
1 deadbolt,
20 mm wide face plate, either with flat or rounded ends.
Lever/Lever or Lever/Pad locking operation
"
It looks like the lock itself supports both type of operations - if only I could read that label ?

So probably can get away with just a new set of handles, which I suppose have some short form of the square bar attached on each side (rather than the long one which connects to both sides) so they can both separately operate the lock ?0
