1 Yr Virgin E-ISA Maturing

Hi my ISA matures on the 20th and its prompting me to open a new 1 year fixed account and transfer it in.

If I do this will I be able to add funds from a non ISA saver such as Marcus ? It sounds like I cant.

So how do I take my current ISA plus a chunk from Marcus into a new Cash ISA to reduce next years tax

Thanks

It would seem that a 5 year old knows the answer to your question:

I dont want to transfer an ISA or bring ISA's together, I want to add non ISA cash to existing / expiring cash ISA - is that allowed?

Ask Virgin how to do this?

They tell you how to do it for in-store and postal maturing on their help pages.

It should be possible to do it (one would hope!) provided you haven't invested into another cash ISA this tax year.

Alternatively let it lapse into an instant access then add funds then transfer to a suitable cash ISA with them or another provider.
  • I think I have it , the online information was a bit hard to follow but I renewed and seems that I can add funds - ISA transfers or cash - between 24/12/18 and 23/01/19 only and then it is locked.

I would roll over your current fix to the easy access ISA option (its one of the options as I have exactly the same maturing of 24th) then add this years ISA money to that easy access account, then, if you want transfer that higher amount into a new fixed ISA.

Too late I renewed / transfered to the higher fixed rate :-)

I'm 99.99% sure after the 24/12 I have 30 days to add non-ISA cash though

  • You can only add non-ISA cash if you have not put any money into another cash ISA since 6th April 2018. If not then you can add, potentially, up to £20,000 (if you have not put money into any other sorts of ISA since 6th April). If you pay non-ISA cash into your Virgin ISA then you cannot put any other non-ISA cash into another cash ISA until 6th April 2019.
