Hi. The driver parked in the bear inn pub Havant and was told that if they used the pub the parking was free. They used the pub and then got a ticket. They didnt appeal the ticket and they have now recieved a letter from BW Legal asking me for 145.00. Do they have to respond to respond to this to stop it going to court ?

Did you read the obvious NEWBIES thread? I am presuming not
EDIT YOUR POST - on a laptop, the edit option is there but not visible on a mobile - so the driver cannot be identified. THE DRIER parked at the bear inn pub...THE DRIVER used the.... YOU ARE THE KEEPER (registered with the DVLA, so registereed Keeper)
Likely there was some form of tablet inside to add the car reg, and this wasnt done
Get reading the newbies thread, post 2, as this deals with letters before action.0 -
Get The Bear pub involved. You were their customer, get them to sort it out for you. If they won't, let them have both barrels on Trip Advisor/Facebook/Twitter etc.
Looking at their TA reviews it sounds like it's past its best - it's interesting to note that run down hotels and their car parks seem to attract PPCs like bees around a honey pot. Coincidence? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Two types of BWLegal letters, one is debt collector junk, the other is a letter before court LBC.
If it is an LBC it must give you 30 days to respond.
Go to the pub as a customer and get this cancelled0 -

Parking Charge and harassment letters.
Dear Sir or Madam:
As a previous Cineworld monthly member and now an avid visitor of Cineworld at least once per week. I am appalled that I have been subjected to misleading legal and threatening letters from Britannia Parking and now subsequently B& Legal.
Having researched the companies and you car park it seems that one has to pay to park to then pay for a ticket and confectionary at the Cinema. I was not aware of this and there was not sufficient information present when I recently visited.
Having not received a PCN on my vehicle I am assuming after careful consideration that this alleged “breach of contract” might have occurred when visiting Cineworld.
I regularly use the Address Cineworld, but due to a Google listing error, the commencement time was muddled between the two Cineworlds in Town, hence I rushed to the Address and ran across the car park to catch the performance. This was my first visit to Address
I do note there are Cineworld logos depicting parking for the cinema however I am shocked that you would agree to allow customers to be charged to watch a film when there are no charges for any other Cineworld car park in the area that I know of.
As a result I am now being subjected to a bill of £733.87 from a company called B& Legal and court action threats should I not pay.
Recently B& legal are mentioned in a parliamentary debate in relation to being a questionable firm of solicitors who may not be acting fairly, transparently or within the confines of the code of practice.
It is truly shocking that having visited a cinema and expected to pay for parking and that as a company you can allow this to go on. Either clearer signs need to be implemented or a system enabling patrons of the venue to be reimbursed.
Please make contact with the landowner and have this matter drawn to a conclusion. I will also be writing to my local MP as this is not only an unfair system but a rather unfair method of implementation which as a duty of care I suspect is not something you wish for your continued customer experience or review.0 -
MPs are of the same mind, have you complained to yours? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Why are you writing to Cineworld when the parking took place at The Bear pub? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Oh shoot! I'm sitting in Sainsbury's car park on my mobile while Mrs U does a bit of provision purchasing (something for tea!). You just don't get a full screen view on a mobile phone, so missed that it was a different poster.
