Morning folks and thanks SPEKY for starting off. No wind or rain here yet - all is calm - but it is due later apparently.

I am getting cards addressed Mr & Mrs from old mates of Bob from his TA days. We used to have an annual (boozy) weekend reunion with a lot of them but it fizzled over time. Obviously word hasn't got round them all yet. I haven't sent any cards other than to very close family and I hope folk understand. Not very good friends if they don't say I.

I am meeting my oldest buddy for our usual Tuesday morning coffee and cake meet up but today we are extending it to an Xmas lunch as well. So we may forego the cake to do lunch justice!

Not a lot else planned for today. Will probably just come home and have a little nap if I get chance.

My trip to town yesterday looking for black trousers or jeans was a fruitless one. It's so difficult finding pants that look right on my stumpy little legs. Just came home with a few bargain buys from the cheapy frozen food shop and rammed them into the already full freezers that I wasn't going to buy anything else for! I can never turn my nose up at a bargain!

Hope your DD is pain free today BOZWOOD. Well done HESTER hope it all goes through smoothly.

Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Thinking especially of HOLLY, POPPY and TAFF. Take care all xx

Double posting with GERS - your baby tree is so cute!!

    Loving the carols Tru

Great news about the house Hester, fingers crossed

    Love the 'tree' Gers.

No tree here, can't get into the Christmas spirit. Haven't seen dgs since October, it was his birthday last month.
Want to go out for lunch today but it will be busy, don't feel like cooking.

    Take care all
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.

Morning. Dd is still asleep I will wake her soon hopefully she’s ok she didn’t wake us in the night Busy day to day working most of today after school club and the after that I need to pick up my shopping from Tesco
  • Good morning all, loving the tree Gers. Thanks for the Christmas carol, tru.

That was a very early start for you Speky, hope your calls went well.

I had a quiet day yesterday, enjoyed the swim and then gave Reiki to my poorly neighbour in the evening. Went straight to bed afterwards and had a great sleep up until 2.45am, and have been reading since then. And paying homage to the cat, who of course has been lapping it up. Purr, purr.

Today I'm meeting a pal for a cuppa. We haven't met up for a few weeks, so we have much to catch up on, all positive.

I've another friend coming to share a meal with me tonight. She's about to get very busy with visiting family and we worked out yesterday that this is the only possible date for it. I'm keeping it simple - a chicken dish with vegetables and stuffed baked apples for pudding, which I know she loves.

I hope everyone's day goes as well as it possibly can. xxx

Thanks for comments about my branch - I think I'm mellowing towards Christmas trees. This was my very first ever 'tree' (as an adult) in 2014 for my first Christmas in this house.

    Log.jpg

I burnt it on 06 January.
  • Just had a bizarre call to tell me that BT are going to terminate my phone and Broadband. Guessed it was a scam but phoned the official BT help line and yes if I had carried on with call they would request confirmation of bank details etc. I don't know how these people sleep at night.
Pleased to hear about the offer on the house Hester.
Right can't put off pressie wrapping any longer!
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one.

Well that one social event off, OH told me this morning he has a sore throat, so I went and sat with him in a waiting room full of coughing and sneezing people to see the Dr. His lungs etc are fine as is his temperature, I suspect he has a cold, but we will see. I asked to be referred for my right ear to be tested, my hearing in that ear seems to be deteriorating.

I was going to clean the bathroom toilet and kitchen, thats gone out the window now........it will have to wait, might manage it tomorrow. Its mostly the floors that need doing. I wipe round the basin and clean the loo each morning. Will do the worktops whilst OH has his nap, that just leaves 3 floor to do with the steam mop. I was also going to make soup, that will go on hold as well.

Its very windy, not quite so cold, rain is forecast for later.

Supper tonight chicken and smoked bacon pie, no spuds just carrots and brussels and a bit of extra sauce. might do a rice pudding for dessert.
