Came across this before....

Basically, it looks like somebody (in America I'm guessing) has been banned from Amazon because of obtaining their gift cards via Swagbucks.
Anybody had a similar experience?0 -

Never had any problems with UK Amazon giftcards from various places inc swagbucks - the only time my Amazon balance has been more than £30 -£50 was when I won a £500 Amazon voucher from a survey site through swagbucks so I would not normally have as much of a balance at risk as the banned personmy $400+ of gift card credit.0 -
I have for some time now been using the "enter the wrong expiry date" trick to get Amazon to accept e-Mastercards without taking £1 for verification - but the last time, Amazon's systems got very upset about it, and I received a series of e-mails over a couple of days telling me to change my (failed) top-up to a different source of funds, even though I had already, after the first refusal, changed to the correct expiry date and the top-up had then gone through with no problems. It's a bit worrying, because it feels as though Amazon is about to close that door to getting the full £10 credited.0

The fact the guy has been banned for life...Never had any problems with UK Amazon giftcards from various places inc swagbucks - the only time my Amazon balance has been more than £30 -£50 was when I won a £500 Amazon voucher from a survey site through swagbucks so I would not normally have as much of a balance at risk as the banned person

.....sort of implies to me he's not telling the full story, and perhaps he's guilty of something he's not revealing, since banning somebody for life seems a somewhat harsh measure to take if somebody is only guilty of accumulating too many cards in value.
To be honest though, I've been on Swagbucks for just over a month, and so far have been able to build up gift cards to the value of £80, which is great, but I'm thinking I'm now going to "cash out" and terminate my account, since it can be quite addictive trying to keep up to scale by doing enough surveys on a daily basis.
So, I'll use what I've earned and perhaps come back to Swagbucks in a few months.
PS. mjm, I've found you very helpful in providing advice about Swagbucks, so cheers pal. :beer:0 -
The response to the date change has definitely changed, they don't bother to refuse just cancel the transaction. Because of concerns here I've switched to higher value cards, £25 or £50 and at the moment Amazon Giftcards of £25 and I think £50 are the same cost as Mastercards, I've been able to reduce the 'load' on the Amazon system so so far they haven't objected. It just seems to get harder, but I just count what I do get as fortunate. A long time ago I used to cash out using Paypal, even though there was significant cost disadvantage, at least I didn't build a balance anywhere.I have for some time now been using the "enter the wrong expiry date" trick to get Amazon to accept e-Mastercards without taking £1 for verification - but the last time, Amazon's systems got very upset about it, and I received a series of e-mails over a couple of days telling me to change my (failed) top-up to a different source of funds, even though I had already, after the first refusal, changed to the correct expiry date and the top-up had then gone through with no problems. I too have been using this system and all was fine, the last one went through all right and then, two days later I had a message on the app to say I needed to use a different method of payment. I rang and was told that it was a problem with my main credit card, the bank had put a stop on it. I rang the bank to be told there was no problem. I rang Amazon again and they said the problem was with the pre-paid card!!!! When I checked my balance, it had credited to my account, there was no discrepancy.
After all this kerfuffle and confusion, I again went to put a £10 card on my Amazon balance and forgot all about the 'wrong date' and entered it exactly. Too late I'd pressed OK, to my surprise it went through, the whole £10, no problems and no £1 taken.
On checking my digital wallet I noticed a spare £1 still left on one of the cards, so I decided to try that and it went through alright. Previously some of the £1s were rejected, so I was surprised it went through straight away.
Maybe Amazon have changed their stance on these pre paid cards?
At one time I had many £1s left in my digital wallet and I was able to use them to credit my VirginMedia account.0 -

Hi, thanks for this. I just tried with £1 I had left in my digital wallet, that I know I've tried with before for a gc, and it worked this time.
