Just had a gaming survey for 189sb F10871031 by toluna, I think if you answer that you have heard of more of the game titles the survey would have been longer.

I've seen a lot of chat on here about redemptions of SB for virtual Mastercards. Is there a summary anywhere of how to use them? Or are they fairly straightforward?

Had a bit of a falling out with Amazon and want to change what I redeem for...
I didn't find an explanation by anyone so here is mine...

You can use the card to shop online anywhere that takes a credit card (pretty much). You get all the details including a virtual 3 digits from the back of the card. You can go into your digital wallet (the website where your card details are) and edit your name or address so if you ordered the card as Bill Smith and your middle name was listed in an online account somewhere so you are Bill Fred Smith or you have an extra line in your address, then you can edit your card to have the correct details if that is an issue in placing an order,

The virtual MC from Swagbucks seems to work OK on eBay and paypal so you can use them to purchase things there and also to send money to family and friends. I had one from top cashback that would not work on paypal. I had to make a charity donation with it in the end to empty the last few £.

i would say if you have a family member or friend with paypal so you can transfer then the last say £1.76 that is left after your online shopping then they are a great idea. Otherwise getting the last little amount off the card can be more challenging as most online or telephone orders will not let you pay £1.76 off this card and the remainder off another card.

You can use them just like a debit card to pay for an item online, just submit the card number, expiry date etc.

If you just want it as cash (as I do) I log into PayPal, request a payment from my husband for the amount on the card. He logs into his PayPal, adds the card as a payment method and then pays my request with the card. I then transfer the money from my PayPal into my bank. Takes around 2 minutes for the whole process and then it's in my bank account.

Virtual MasterCard is the best value (Amazon Gift Card £5x2 is 1400SB, PayPal £10 is 1600SB whereas Virtual MC £10 is 1300SB:j) but the challenge is how to use up all the balance, because online retailers often don't allow you to specify the amount you want to pay, and even if they do, they sometimes try to take an authorisation charge in addition to the purchase amount and refund it later, that often causes big problems.

For example, if you have your £10 in Virtual MC and try to top up your Amazon UK account, don't enter 10. If you do so, they try to deduct £11 (including authorisation charge of £1 which they will refund several days alter) and the transaction doen't go through, as obviously you don't have £11 in your card. You instead need to enter 9 so that they can deduct £10 in total and refund £1 later. But then what can we do with the remaining £1?

    My best way so far:

    1) Find the online retailer where you can specify the exact amount you want to pay, and where they don't charge an authorisation fee. If you live in London Oystercard PAYG top up on the tfl website does work this way. I want to explore gift card purchases of my favourite retailers but haven't tried yet. Anyone has success on any gift card purchases?

    2) There's a trick on Amazon top up that I found on a swagbucks thread. Let's say again you have £10, then register this virtual MC as one of your cards but enter the incorrect expiry date, then buy £10 to top up your account. The transaction will be cancelled a few minutes later due to incorrect card info. After confirming this, amend the expiry date to the correct one, then buy £10 again. This time, they don't try to take the authorisation charge again, so we can use the full amount!!! You can then delete this card from your list and forget about it forever.:rotfl:

The Mastercards are also great for paying off parts of bills that let you pay off parts of your pay online bills. I use mine to reduce how much I have to pay on my council tax and electricity bills.

    This gold survey
    13514528 20 mins for 250 SB
had the "(!)" which usually means not eligible for the 1 SB DQ - by chance hovered on it and it was just a plug for the survey "Opportunity to earn 250 SB in 20 Mins" so took it looking for the DQ which actually paid 5 SB
