Just in case it's not sunk in.

When you plug a device into the SCART socket and turn it on, it sends a signal to the TV to switch over to show the pictures being sent down the SCART cable.

With HDMI this doesn't happen. You need to find the button marked 'SOURCE' or 'AV' or something similar (on the TV remote) and press it until you see 'HDMI' appear on the screen.

While a TV should auto switch to the correct hdmi input when the source is switched on, Humax hdmi control can be a tad dodgy. Sometimes HDMI CEC control (viera link panasonic, Bravia link Sony etc.,.) needs enabling in a TV setup menu for it to work.

Scart source auto switching is more reliable via the pin 8 voltage.

The TV usually has an AV or EXTernal source switch on the remote control to select the connected input. It can take a second or five for a picture to appear.
That bit is likely down to power saving mode being turned on in the Humax menu. That prevents RF pass through if the box is 'off'.

There seems to be a masthead amplifier / remote powered distribution splitter-amplifier - which the -T2 box may be powering (via the 5V antenna power option) when ON rather than the Vision power supply (as that has no effect on/off)?

OP: Ensure that the Vision psu is connected to the aerial cable (that went to the -T2 input) and the output from that into whatever box you are using. That should make both TV points work.
Disabling the power saving feature will pass signals to the main TVs tuner when in standby.
