Kent Reliance ISA - Transfer in

Hello everyone,

I am interested in transferring my Egg (6.05%) and Yorkshire (5.65%) mini cash ISAs to Kent Reliance building society. In the transfer form they request to fill out the amount I would like to transfer. This is difficult to say since interests are paid on daily basis and I do not know the exact amount of the ISAs there. There is no checkbox on the form to be ticked for transferring all.

1) What should I put the in amount box if I don't know the exact amount and wish to transfer all in?

2) The other question I have; is this "Variable rate mini cash ISA" the one with an interest rate of 6.21%?

3) And third question, what is this Yorkshire's "Fixed Rate Anniversary ISA"? Can I transfer my ISAs in there? ;) How does that one work?

Kind Regards,
Houman

  • Hi Houman,
    (1) Regarding your transfer to Kent alliance, where it says "This is my formal instuction to Transfer the Full/partial balance of" you just need to cross out the words "partial balance of" and leave the amount box empty.
    Well thats what I did;)
(2)The account for 6.21% is "Direct variable rate mini cash ISA"
I have recentley Transferred to Kent Aliance.

    Hope this Helps

    Best Regards Steve

It is a rate fixed rate for one year from when you open the account. The 'anniversary' refers to the topping up/access option - a month at the time of each anniversary. Yes, you can transfer-in now for 6.25% (the rate was 6.5% for accounts opened in October and may be something different next month - but always fixed for the term) and that would be the most straightforward method as there would be no lost days involved.

A point about this anniversary: If you what to fund an ISA each April (to maximize interest) then you'd have to open another ISA - possibly with Yorkshire - in the April and be prepared to move that amount into the anniversary product during the window. Obviously that depends on whether the follow up fixed rate offered still looks as good.
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam

Interesting. Does it mean I could transfer the existing ISA Plus from Yorkshire to the Anniversary ISA for much higher interest?

But the main question remains, a fixed rate especially with only 6.25% not that great. If Kent can do a flexible 6.21% and I always can go out for a better rate especially in coming April. I still it makes more sense sticking with Kent.

    Thank you.

    Alright Steve,

Since you have went through the pain of filling out the forms; in the transfer form they ask about "Name of current Mini cash ISA Manager".

I suppose thats the ones I like to transfer from, right? How do I figure out my ISA Manager and address for Egg and Yorkshire? I opened them both online. How did you get the information from?

    Cheers

'Egg' and 'Yorkshire BS' sound to be a good starting point for the name!! Then look at the Certificate they sent you - for the respective addresses. As you'll certainly need the reference number from that ('Mini cash ISA reference number(s) from existing provider') before Kent will entertain a transfer
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • Hi Houman,
you need to fill one Transfer form for each ISA you transfer, the Details you need are below:

    Bradford, West Yorkshire,
    BD5 8LJ

    Egg Savings
