Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Happy birthday Nelski, have a good one.

TA do not be so hard on yourself, people understand, everything is very raw just now, just take each day as it comes.

Holly, good to see you posting, extra ((((((hugs)))))). Take care and keep posting, we are here for you.

Yesterday was a difficult day for us, we did not go out, just had a quiet day. Today is today........life will only be as normal as it can be in the circumstances.

We were very late waking up, so 11am before feet went anywhere near the floor, no lunch but supper brought forward to 4pm so need the meat in by 2.00pm.

Had a surprise yesterday, a card from OH's nephew we have not seen since OH's mothers funeral in 1994. He has wangled our address out of his mother. I have sent a card back with a short note.

Small load of whites in the washer, it will go in the dryer. The weather has improved vastly from yesterday, the wind was blowing directly at the front of the house, so all the bins spent the afternoon clanging about despite being weighed down by bits of slab. The wind forced the rain under the front door. I am so glad we have a coir mat fitted at the door otherwise it would have affected the carpet.

The sky is clear, we have a slight breeze and OH tells me it is not as cold as it has been........sorry for those of you who have snow, although we had snow in November last year.

Supper, shoulder of lamb, roasties, brussels and carrots, no dessert, might break out the mince pies.
  • Happy Birthday Nelski hope you have a lovely day

Happy Birthday Nelski! Hope you're having a great day.

The sun is shining here but I can see dark clouds looming. I managed to go down to the cellar to get what I needed, it's not too damp down there so I've put the wicker garden chairs there - they've been in the kitchen for a couple of years.

I was at Ikea for it opening at 9, got the chairs and a Christmas tree - bit of a squeeze and it tickled my ear all the way home but glad I only had to make one journey. Managed to cut my finger in Ikea on the side of a cardboard box, caused quite a stir as there was a LOT of blood. Anyway, kind first aider cleaned it and stuck a plaster on. Felt like a right twit!

The tree is in the house spreading out, I may leave the decorating until the DGC arrive at the weekend.

Just the kitchen to finish cleaning and then I'm going for a relaxing soak in the bath and to watch rubbish TV!

Tru- how annoying especially when Scampi was such a good boy the day before
Hester-hope you get it all done xx
Not seen much of the DGC this weekend,DGD didnt stay after all on Friday and they went to a party on Saturday.DH said its been peaceful,I said it was boring ;):rotfl:
Went to the builders warehouse this morning, someone has pinched DH hammer. £36 for a new one.I got a few bits too then we called up to our friends to take their cards. It was too early for them to have their usual bottle of wine opened so we had coffee and cake.
I left brisket in our sc too and peeled the spuds before we went out.Just popped them in, the men are watching the Liverpool v Manutd match so we'll have tea at half time.
I'm meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow so that'll be nice.
    Have good evenings all xx

    Happy birthday Nelski,

Much nicer here today than last couple of days......not raining and no wind.

DGD7 not well, temperature, cough and runny nose, not her usual sunny self, hopefully she will get over it soon.

TA....as others have said, it's early days, so don't be so hard on yourself.

Hester......you sound very stressed, I hope that things sort themselves out soon and you can have some relaxation.

Tru......sorry to hear about Scampi being so upset.....people can be so stupid!

    Gers....enjoy your tree!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, whatever you are doing.

  • Bit late but
Happy Birthday Nelski, I hope you'v had a nice relaxing day
  • As I said this morning on F/B Nelski, sharing your birthday with my DGS Ben makes it a special day honey. I do hope you had a day filled with cake and prosecco at the very least .

Just back from DDs where we all had his choice of meal, which in Ben's case was a curry followed by chocolate cake. The boys all get to choose what they want to eat on their birthdays. It's my youngest DDs Tessa's birthday this Wednesday, she can't possibly be 49 :) as she is my baby ):) God knows what she will choose for dinner on Wednesday :):)

DGS Jack's young lady Olivia came to dinner as well which was nice She is such a nice lass, very hard working and so polite bless her She is in the last year of her 'A' levels and hasn't as yet decided what she wants to do come the summer.

Had a nice evening rounded off by watching The Apprentice, glad the swimwear lass won, although the other girl was good as well,a difficult choice I think.

Right I'm off to bed to have a read and relax. My sis-in-law popped in this morning with present and a HM Christmas cake that she makes for me every year which I appreciated.

Hugs for all those who are in need and Mrs TA chin up honey one day at a time .I found when I was in your present position of the up and down swings when I was down I would walk literally around the block for 10 minutes and look at anything ,folks gardens, the clouds, or just listen to the birds anything to distract from the downward swoop which everyone gets .

Or I would frantically clean something that hadn't been done for ages ,like the lampshades or skirting boards anything that took my mind to a different place .sometimes it helped and the blues slowly changed .I am a great believer in distraction therapy :):) Hope tomorrow is a good day for you

Night Night God Bless all here

    JackieO xx
