ID Mobile Credit Check

I bought a sim only deal several months back without issue. Tonight I wanted another sim for my son so had to go through another credit check. This failed, but I have checked my experian rating and that is 984 out of 999. I own a house, mortgage free, have two credit cards both with zero owed, have never been turned down on anything before, so how can i find out why i was turned down on a £4 month Sim deal?

You were declined because they cannot see your "score" of 984, nobody will ever see your "score" except you and the company who want to sell the number to you.

So why was i turned down? If being turned down because they can't see my rating then why have i never been declined on credit cards, or other things that require credit checks? That can't be the reason, but if all i can see is my score, how on earth do i find out why, apart from them having a system that has declined someone in good credit with no debt and good salary. Joke really on a 1 month contract £4 a month sim, laughable from a company that shares users data quite easily, except the user of course.

I would suggest you call them and ask. Could be any number of reasons, Perhaps they limit the number of SIM only accounts a person can have. Perhaps there was some sort of mis-match in the information you provided. The actual reason for the decline may be nothing to do with your credit worthiness.

    Stop checking the comedy scores.

Check the data on your credit files.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Just gives me Numbers out of 999, i already know that.
It has to be ID Mobiles system, nothing has changed in my credit since my last successful purchase 2 months ago
  • You need to check your three files, beyond the scores. Until you do that, you won't know what the issues are.

Look at the link you posted. It clearly states that it shows you Experiean credit report, which is your history.

Ok On Clearscore it shows no factors to improve.
    AND

You don't have any court judgements, bankruptcies or Individual Voluntary Arrangements
You have no accounts in default or repossession
You've been on the electoral roll at your current address for a long time
You've made very few applications for credit in the past year
You have held at least one of your accounts for several years
Very few/none of your accounts have overdue payments
Your largest credit card limit is relatively high
You have stayed within your credit card limit in the past year
You're using a small amount of your total credit card limit (below 50%) Actually NIL
Your current Telecoms balance is relatively low

So I think it's safe to say Carphone Warehouse have a useless system
  • Ignore their advice and comments. The CRAs aren't making any decisions here. Look at the DATA.

    What accounts show?
Are their any late payment markers?
    Minimum payments or more?
    Total limits?
    Financial associates?

    And so on.

    Repeat for all three.
