JACKIE O your lovely message had me in tears but I felt better for it. You are so kind. Thank you x
We have freezing rain here now and it's hitting the front windows. That is always a sign that bad weather is on the way. DD is under strict instructions to let me know when they are back from the theatre tonight. I shall be worried++ until I hear from her if the roads are as hazardous as they are forecasting.
Take care and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good afternoon,
From a wet & cold Isle of Dogs. Apologies in advance for the following moanDecember is my least favourite month of the year
- a combination of dark & short days, the manic disruption caused by the Christmas season, crowded shops, I have had no Christmas spirit for at least 30 years - forced jollity, excessive drinking & eating, stressed out people - bah humbug
Moan over, I am embarrassed as I have so much to be grateful for - generally healthy, a diamond of a husband, a paid for roof over my head, no financial worries. Just need to give myself a really hard kick up the backside :rotfl: - just pictured myself trying to do this but not that flexible :rotfl:
Sending copious gentle (((HUGS))) to everyone who is poorly, worried, caring for poorlies or just generally feeling bleugh. I will try & get back into the swing of things ASAP
From a very embarrassedMrsSD

Hello everyoneI thought that while I feel up to typing out a post I would pop in and say hello to you all.
I have just read back over a few random thread to get a gist of what is going on for everyone, and am really sad to read that so many of you are going through difficult times, and struggling with health and different problems life is throwing at you.
I know that Nelski has been giving you updates, but there hasn’t been much change in the situation recently for her to tell you about.I’ve just been having the chemo to shrink the tumour ready for surgery, which was originally booked for next week but this has been changed to the second week in January now as I may well be on my own over the Christmas period.
I was staying with my brother, but my sister in law was finding this difficult, so I decided it was better for me to come home rather risk a family rift because I was putting her under pressure.
Unfortunately, it has meant that I have had to struggle through on my own because one of my close friends has fallen, fractured her hip and needed a hip replacement, and the other local friend has gone to stay with her sister for a while. This has meant that I haven’t got anyone locally for emotional or practical support. However, the mental health team are being really supportive the CPN visits weekly and phones on two other days. The psychiatrist has been visiting every two weeks, and a psychologist once a week. I also have the option of crisis team visiting daily and the offer of an inpatient admission for respite care for any length of time that I feel I need. So I couldn’t ask for more.
TA please don’t feel like a failure, you really are not. I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through right now, but it must be a very difficult time of year for you and no one will expect you to do everything that you did in the past.
Tru it is great to see the Christmas songs again this year, they brought a smile to my face.Taff and poppy I hope that you are both feeling a bit better.Silver-oldie that Christmas party sounds pretty dire, I hope that you have survived without having been traumatised

HOLLY what a lovely surprise to see your post. I am glad you are feeling up to bringing us all up to date yourself. It's a shame you didn't feel you could impose on your brother and his family any longer but I am pleased you have good support from your CPN. Take care, much love and many (((HUGS))) xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
