NCP Railway parking - Cannot tell the difference between Cardiff and Newport - what are the chances?

I left the MP etc. bit out because - NCP, I believe, do everything 'by the book' (well, head office tries to - but it seems the actual operatives on site or in their offices don't know what they're doing.)
So - I left that out (as it seemed threatening) - However, I'll keep that back I think. Kicking myself really - I felt it was too threatening, but how threatening is it to treat a long time customer for a minor infraction (allegedly) but also to make a pigs ear of doing so! Thanks - I will remember that one. Fire with fire.0 -
Thanks! I bow to your seniority on the board (and ability to post images)!
(Love 'No Clue Parking' - I'm using that...)
So - these images were online.
I can pay online (although last night, they hadn't uploaded any details (!) but give themselves 48hrs - but were happy for me to call up, enter a reference number to the robot, for it to say 'we don't have a record for that yet - but how would you like to pay...?' (which seemed scumbaggery to me!)
So - to the point:
I go online, enter reg and reference, I can pay or appeal. I click 'Appeal' - typed in the above and attached copy of the notice they sent (clearly showing wrong station - but I did not draw attention to it - that is for them to realiseSee what step they make next. If they say "PAY THE FINE!" I'll go straight back with 'BUT MY CAR WASN'T PARKED IN CARDIFF - PROVE IT AS I ALREADY ASKED.' (but not in capitals))
So AFTER you've submitted your appeal, then the original summary form changes - and it provides you with links to each of the images of the ticket machine, signs, pictures of my car allegedly being naughty (ask no questions, I'll tell no lies).
All have the same header as the image: my reg, the wrong location, time and date.
There has been no written letter etc. yet (this happened last night, I'm dealing with it today) - there is no PCN number on the evidence - but they come from a webpage which does represent it...
Two more images to show you the innerworkings of NCP's faceless FineBot2000:

The whole point about complaining to the landowner is to alert them to the fact they have employed unregulated scammers that even our MPs have called scammers, and more.
Your choice of course.
Please find time to answer the other questions, especially about byelaws. These questions are not asked just for fun. Each and every one is asked for a specific reason so we can give you the correct advice.
You might be surprised to know that some posters get the name of the parking scammers wrong, as well as many other mistakes that sends the regular down the wrong road and sometimes leads to incorrect advice being given.

Take screen grabs of everything from the website in case it gets amended later. I'm assuming you got a NTD, but please confirm this. If you have already, then my apologies for missing it.
The reason I ask is that the NEWBIES advises you to wait until day 26 to appeal a NTD. This is important in byelaws cases where you want to drag this out past 6 months.I married my cousin. If you are going to be so forthright, can I suggest a slight adjustment...I'll go straight back with 'BUT MY CAR WASN'T PARKED IN CARDIFF - PROVE IT AS I ALREADY ASKED.' (but not in capitals))
Please take care never to give away the identity of the driver.
You need to edit post #11 similarly.
Perhaps Fruitcake can edit post #13 too.0 -
Hi all - I got a reply on Christmas Eve. They reminded me that they ask all patrons to park safely, but that they were going to cancel the ticket on this occasion. No further action required.
Who knew one of my best Christmas presents would be from NCP?!
Or they knew I was ready to fight their sloppy admin, even if they had the chance to amend it!
Thanks for the info on this board. It really helped (and as KeithP says 'Don't admit it even slightly at all ever' - even if you feel you have them bang to rights.)
I was ready to ditch NCP once and for all (as I spend more than that a year in parking with them, so I'd want to recoup my expenses, wouldn't I?) - I wonder if they checked records and realised.
I will be giving them a wide berth from now on -- but at least they did the right thing. We all just want to use the b@start trains, and sort of accept that moneygrubbers are going to steal our cash to make that convenient - but to try to fine us (and shabbily at that) on top of that is one step far too far!
Thanks again!0 -
Excellent result and a good start to the new year.
Not sure how much credit I'd be giving NCP.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Well one, and thanks for letting us know.
Please now help us by complaining to your MP about this unregulated scam. Do point out that the scammers were demanding money with menaces when they knew the car was not parked at the alleged location they were claiming.I married my cousin.
