As above, our bathroom windows fog/mist up when you shower, every time. We have the extractor fan on as soon as we shower, and tried bathroom door open and closed and the windows and cabinet mirror still mists up (I say mist, but its actually wet)

Is there anything we can do to prevent this please??

    a) open trickle vents if fitted. if not open window slightly while in the shower.

    b) make sure the fan is not blocked in any way and is sucking ok. When on will it hold up an A4 Piece of paper over the grill?

c)get a stronger fan. in-line are good if you have space to fit.

Hi Lorian, thank for your reply

    a) we always have the small window/fanlight window open, as no trickle vents

    b) the fan is new but sucks in from the side, so cant place a piece of paper over it (search images of: Vent-Axia Silent Bathroom Fan)

    c) The fan is quite strong and had a high rating when we bought it

Sounds pretty normal if you have a high flow shower, like long showers and a small bathroom. You can get bathroom mirrors with built in demisters that never fog up.

It is sucking air in from outside? Surely the fan should be working in the opposite direction, venting the moist room air to the outside of the building, so that the moist room air is replaced by warm dry air from the rest of the house?

Also, have you adjusted the timer in the fan so that it is on for the maximum length of time after you have finished showering? (It's not going to do much good while you are showering, as the shower will be creating moisture much faster than the fan can remove it).

Yep - take cold showers - that's the only way you'll stop warm water vapour condensing on a cold pane of glass, no matter how 'A' rated the glass it.

Rooms usually kept warm yes, the Mrs had the radiators on a lot (too much) this time of year :(
